About A Woman in a Man's World
A new podcast for women working in environments created for and by men. Hear inspiring stories from women who've been there. What were their experiences? How did they get to where they are? How did they overcome the obstacle of being a woman in a man's world? What do they wish they knew when they first started?Women are underrepresented in business making up only 6% of CEOs and 32% of FTSE 100 Directors. Women are 67% less confident in their ability to progress than men. There are twice as many men in senior positions than women. These factors all affect women’s confidence, self-belief, resilience, sense of value and ability to ask for money. There's a vicious circle where it's harder for women to thrive in business because we often can't see someone else thriving. For women who are one of only a few, it can be easy to feel alone. Through sharing success stories, women can get advice from those who have been there. Knowing that we're not doing this alone and seeing other women succeed is half the battle. Creating a powerful vision for 2024
We’re back! First up this season I’m talking about setting a powerful vision for 2024. I’m talking you through how I’ve created my vision and what that starts to look like for me, so you can create this for yourself too. The key rituals that I talk through are: 1) Reflect on 2023 with gratitude. Consider areas like career, money, relationships, home environment, wellbeing, travel, love and add any others that feel right for you. 2) What are you releasing from 2023? I like write out a list and burn it 3) Write a gratitude letter to 2023 4) What do you want to feel, be and have in 2024? Starting with Acceptance with Cynthia Fortlage

Cynthia is a Gender Identity Coach and is speaking with me about her experience of seeing the world through both sets of gendered eyes, how she educates people on first finding acceptance of one another before needing to understand, and how her experience of the world changed after she underwent her own transition. Breaking Out of the Box with Vanessa Challess
This week my guest is Vanessa Challess, founder of Tiger Law and Tiger HR. We're talking about breaking out of the boxes that we're often put in that weren't necessarily made for us, and what we can do if we forge our own way. We also talk about how Vanessa built a business after being fired while pregnant, the domestic burden so often put on women and why she's done explaining why she's an equal. The Importance of Allies with Bridget Forster
This week's episode features Bridget Forster, an Explosives Ordnance Disposal Officer working in Gaza. She was in Gaza during our recording which took place shortly after the recent conflict so as well as talking about her experience of being a woman in the military, we also talk a little bit about the reality of life in Gaza. We also talk about the importance of male allies and how this can make all the difference when it comes to succeeding as a woman in a male-dominated environment. About Bridget: Bridget Forster was the first woman to attend the TA Platoon Commander’s Battle Course and then one of the first group of women to serve directly in the British Army. After serving as a Blue Helmet in Bosnia with UNPROFOR she left the Army and completed a Master’s degree in Marine Biology at UNSW in Sydney as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She returned to UK and was called to the Bar working as a Planning Barrister in Birmingham and Bristol. In 2014 she went to work with the United Nations Mine Action Service as a Senior Programme Officer with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) attached to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) since 2014. Since then she has trained in Hostage Incident Management, Security and Risk Management, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). She took over the management of the UN’s mine action programme in Palestine and moved to Gaza to deliver emergency EOD tasks for the UN’s humanitarian response. Most recently she remained in Gaza during the most recent conflict, clearing schools and UN premises to allow them to re-open during the conflict and immediately after the ceasefire. Speaking Up with Jacelyn Meller
This week my guest is Jacelyn Meller, co-founder of an engineering firm and fierce advocate for teaching the importance of STEM at a young age.
