Welcome to “A Word with Gugulethu” a space where we ponder over the complexities of life together. I use my voice to transcend pain into abundance and purpose and encourage you to do the same.
“Because healing is sexy” is the motto and healing is exactly what we intend to do.
Let’s figure this thing called life out together… I’m happy to have you here.
- With love, Gugulethu
“Do you ever feel like you are being tested by life itself? This can be an extremely daunting season of life to be in but it doesn’t have to be. How much more fun would it be to learn the lessons that life is teaching us, if we approached being tested in a different, more empowering way. In this episode I encourage us to find joy in the tests of life, for in them our mighty character is built.”

The curse (other side) of beauty
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what does it mean to you? Are you defined by your idea of beauty and how well does this serve you? These are all prompts I’ll be discussing in this episode, so get comfortable and let’s have a chat!”

No thanks, I am no longer available for that
“A gentle reminder that our time here is finite. You get to choose what you make yourself available for, and what you make yourself available for mirrors the life you will create yourself. Stress will always be a part of life, but stressing for things that make me feel like Sugar Honey Ice Tea? My response is always “No thanks, I am no longer available for that,” and in this episode, I share with you why. I hope this resonates tribe!”

I think I am afraid of being seen…
“A fear of being seen is often times developed from an embedded idea in us that we are safest when we are invisible. When we make ourselves invisible, we are safe from the criticism of others, but we subsequently create prisons for ourselves that act as barriers along the journey of where we are headed. You deserve to take up space, there is more than enough, just for you. Enjoy tribe! 💕”

What about my baggage?
“For this episode, I need you in your most receptive state, because today is the day we sever ourselves from the sometimes unbearable weight of our baggage. If you have ever found yourself asking, “But what about my baggage?” then join me for this in depth conversation on how to deal with our baggage, and ultimately “unpack” it according to it’s intended purpose. Return the baggage to it’s keeper and hold on only to the lessons learned!”

Life as a mirror
“The 7 Kemetic/Hermetic Principles, while named after the philosopher Hermes Trismegistus, are a truer reflection of the philosophies of Ancient Kemetic Spirituality and more appropriately the Ancient Egyptian God Thoth. The Tablets of Thoth are proof that we as Africans have known the power of alchemizing our lives long before Western philosophical ideas were introduced to us.
In this episode, I focus on the Kemetic Law of Self-Mastery known as “The Law of Correspondance.”
You might have heard that life is a mirror, but what does that mean?

I love (the idea of) you
“We’re going to break in the next year with a conversation that is more centred around our heart space. Whether we’re actively seeking meaningful unions with people or even with ourselves, we’d all like to believe that we make perfect lovers. What may not be understood yet by us is how we interact with other people and entities purely as an attempt at temporarily filling the empty places in our being. In this episode I discuss some of my ideas about treating love as a skill that must be practised and how to overcome the scarcity mindset within our hearts.”

Being nice is not a personality trait
“As somebody who used to describe herself as a “nice person”, I was recently inspired to reflect upon this concept of niceness. While it has served me in some ways, there are far greater ways in which being nice has not served me. Does the nice guy always finish last? There’s definitely a whole lot of truth to that and in this episode I explore why. Join this dope conversation so you can finally free yourself from the shackles of “niceness” too 😉”

Romanticizing life
“Over the past couple of months, perhaps even years, there has been a growing trend of people actively trying to romanticize their lives. You might also know of this as the “main character syndrome/movement.” This movement aims to tackle what I think is the very obvious reality, that most people will live and die without having truly lived the reality of their dreams. If we can’t find ways to reach our dreams, why don’t we bring our dreams closer to us by romanticizing our lives. This is a super relaxed discussion, where I delve into this concept from my own perspective and with current world events considered. PS: I’ll know who actually listened to the end this time with a cute little interactive challenge. Peace and infinite blessings to you familia, enjoy!”

Financial Feels, with Onalerona Mahlare
“ Abundance in all it’s forms is our birthright. You might feel like you’re on the right track to healing but you may want to extend that TLC to your financial well-being. We often forget that poverty is a mindset and money is simply a reflection of an energetic exchange. What grows is what you pour your energy into. Discussion is a good starting point into understanding how money works as well as how we can better manage our finances. Join my guest Onalerona Mahlare and I, as we explore the topic of monetary exchange and all things financial feels.”

Pain is temporary
“Scarification is a form of body modification that has an archaic history in indigenous cultures globally and most prevalently in Africa.
If you have ever hurt yourself, mentally or physically (which I’m sure we all have) then you are familiar with the fact that healing is a process.
This practice has helped our ancestors and many others to this day who are connected to it, to transform themselves from positions of victimhood to warriors.
If pain is temporary, what are the eternal lessons we can learn from it?”
Join me for this interesting conversation and reflection on a multifaceted practice!
