Special MLK Day Episode: I've Been to The Mountaintop
In this special MLK Day episode, Aaron pays tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by sharing the situation and background leading up to his favorite Dr. MLK Jr. Speech, famously known as his I've Been to the Mountaintop speech. At the time, no one knew this would be Dr. King's last speech. Prophetic and delivered with dazzling authority and authenticity, the speech still resonates with many today.

In this episode, we examine why it's crucial for leaders, speakers, and anyone working with or in groups to have knowledge of behavioral preferences and personality types to foster understanding, facilitate effective communication, create balanced teams, and assign roles.
As mentioned in the podcast, there are various assessments with numerous categories. The host uses vocabulary corresponding to the DISC Assessment because he is a certified Extreme Execution DISC coach.
DISC stands for D - Dominant/Decisive, I - Interactive/Influence, S - Steady/Supportive, C - Compliance/Conscientious. In theory, everyone is a mixture of one of these four categories. Most people have a preference to one or two of these categories which drives how they operate and communicate with others.

"Food for Thought" episodes aim to get the audience thinking. These episodes do not include specific strategies and tips but focus on giving the listener something to consider.
In this episode, we give you "food for thought" about how speakers who are not as polished as John C. Maxwell and Toni Robbins can still effectively communicate and reach their audience, whether in the classroom, the community, or corporate America. We also look at how speakers from backgrounds with non-mainstream vocabulary and a different speaking style sometimes have an advantage and can connect with different demographics and audiences often overlooked by mainstream speaking.
