Joy Mukherjee was part of the prominent Mukherjee-Samarth family in the Indian film industry. He made his acting debut in the early 1960s and quickly became one of the popular actors of his time. Some of his notable films include "Love in Simla," "Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon," and "Shagird." He was often cast as the charming and romantic hero in many of his movies. He was known for comic roles and modeled himself on Bob Hope's style of acting. He appeared in over 300 Hindi films in his career between 1935 and 1986.
