Ally Yu: A young soul embracing a more beautiful life after surviving cancer
<p>Abroad&Risng, Episode 4</p> <p>Ally immigrated to Canada with her parents when she was 13 years old. She was the type of Asian kid who was good at math and got straight-As. She considers herself a banana smoothie who is integrated into the Western culture but also values her Chinese heritage. Ally worked hard during her undergraduate studies at McGill University, and she had a goal of becoming a physician. However, soon after her graduation, she received a life-changing, shocking diagnosis of leukemia. Cancer has been the most challenging thing she ever had to face in her life, but she strived to be an 'exceptional patient' during her treatment. Just recently, she celebrated her two-year anniversary of cancer remission. As a young 20-something-year-old, Ally has been very motivated in her self-development. Hatem Mahbouli - A solutions Architect seeking open-mindedness and an enriching experience
<p>Abroad&Rising, episode 3</p> <p>Hatem Mahbouli came to Canada from Tunisia in 2007. After a short yet enjoyable internship in Canada, he returned to Canada and did his master's study on computer science security. While studying, he did a number of internships to pay for his living expenses due to a sudden loss of funding. Different from many graduates, Hatem built a career path that has little to do with his university major. He is currently working as a solutions architect and his past working experience paved the way to get where he is now. Angela He: a proud mom, daily blogger, and life-long learner
<p>Abroad&Rising podcast, episode 2</p> <p>Angela came to Canada in 1997 from China. She wanted to have a second child and get a degree from a North American university. She did both! She raised two excellent children as a single mom who considers self-care and self-love an essential part of life. Angela takes self-development as a daily practice. She builds positive, healthy habits which help her tackle obstacles in life.
