One day in 1997, Randy Spear asked the Lord to give him a love for reading His Word. From that day forward, Bible reading was no longer a chore. He couldn't put it down! Let's see together what Randy has learned over the past 28 years!
Jeff Ward and Randy Spear open the creation of man in Genesis 1:24–2:4. Animals are made according to their kinds. Man is not. “Let us make humankind in our image…so that they may rule.” Psalm 115:16 and Psalm 8 put the earth under human authority. Because God spoke creation into being, our words also carry power, for life or for condemnation. People are missing from the dominion list. Leadership is required. Domination, manipulation, and control are not, and he calls them witchcraft. Genesis 1:28 adds fruitful, multiply, fill, and subdue. Increase is expected, not optional. Seed and fruit were food before the fall. Roots, leaves, and meat come in Genesis 9, after the flood. Creation is finished on day six and called very good. Day seven is rest. They pause before Genesis 2:7.

He Made the Stars Also
Jeff Ward and Randy Spear pick up Genesis after day 1. The episode concludes with a powerful statement: design implies a designer. Humans, being made (designed) in the image of God (designer), have immense purpose and value.

Genesis: The Foundation
Jeff Ward and Randy Spear open the book of Genesis after wrapping up Ephesians.
They walk through:
Genesis is the foundation of the our entire worldview.
Jesus in every chapter of Genesis
Why the creation account is one of the main places science, culture, and Scripture collide: How did we get here? Why are we here? Are we accountable? Is there absolute truth?
Arrogance on both sides — science treated as an unchallengeable religion, and religion that won’t let anyone ask hard questions
Two guardrails: don’t twist the Bible to fit science, and don’t make the Bible say what it doesn’t say
Why they reject “God used evolution” as a reconciliation: they argue it violates the text
A playground-fence illustration: boundaries create freedom. Their four fences for exploring Genesis 1:
John 1:1–3 — all things created by the Word
Hebrews 1:2–3 — all things created through the Son, who holds all things together
Colossians 1:16–17 — all things created in, through, and for Him
Romans 1:20 — creation leaves everyone without excuse
• • The “where do babies come from?” analogy: Genesis 1 is true and complete, but it leaves holes for us to explore.
