Accidentally Homeless is a storytelling podcast about what happens when ordinary life suddenly stops making sense. One day my mom and I had a home. The next, we were living in our car. What followed wasn't just homelessness—it was baboon burglaries, beach parking lots, impossible decisions, survival systems, dark humour, hunger, hope, and the strange logic that only exists when you're trying to make it through one more day.
This isn't a story about hardship. It's a story about two ordinary people navigating circumstances designed to wipe them off the board, finding laughter in the worst place
We thought the night on the beach was the moment homelessness finally broke us. Turns out, it was the moment we decided to break free.
Because after four months of sleeping in a car, begging for help and making one desperate plan after another, we finally had a way forward.
And after one last desperate gamble, we finally found our way out.…or so we thought.

Chattering Teeth. A Raincoat. Nowhere To Go.
We thought crashing the rental car was the disaster. Turns out, that was just the warm-up.
Because somewhere between one last chance and rejecting an exit strategy, we ended up spending the night on the beach with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.
…and I don’t mean a beach villa…

Things Were Going Well…So Naturally Something Went Wrong
We finally had a little money, a little stability and a plan to get ourselves out.
In Episode 6, we start turning our skills, connections and sheer audacity into actual opportunities. My mom chases a major art gig while I attempt to pitch myself into a job that doesn’t even exist yet.
For the first time, it feels like we’re building our way out. And then, because apparently we’re not allowed to have nice things, we crash our brand-new rental car.

This Is Madness...We're Doing It Anyway
We decided to sell the only thing keeping us alive: our car.
In Episode 5, we’re low on fuel, low on time and have nowhere to go if this plan fails. We hit dealership after dealership, only to hear no again and again.
With the clock ticking and our options disappearing, we’re forced to gamble everything on a plan that has absolutely no guarantee of working and no failsafe.

We Stopped Thinking And Started Eating Logic
Four days without food will change the way you think.
In Episode 4, we’re out of food, out of fuel and out of money.
A failed attempt to make cash leaves us with nowhere left to turn, until a tiny, ridiculous miracle buys us one more day. But by Monday, we need a game changer.
This is the episode where desperation takes the wheel and survival logic goes completely off the rails.
New episodes every WEDNESDAY.

We Know How This Works...Actually We Know Nothing
We were convinced we’d cracked the code to living in our car.
Then someone started banging on the window. Add in tactical toilet paper theft, body parts staging a protest, and one spectacular midnight disaster, and you’ve got Episode 3.

Oh Shit, We Need A Plan
You can survive almost anything if you have a plan. The problem is…we didn’t.
In Episode 2, we trade food for a storage unit, become accidental experts at blending in, budget like hedge fund managers on a broke bitch budget, and discover that rock bottom somehow still has side quests. By the end, one question is louder than ever: what the hell now?

This Is Temporary...RIGHT?!
You don’t become homeless all at once. It happens one tricky decision, one impossible conversation, and one “temporary” plan at a time.
In Episode 1, we lose our home, move into a car, get robbed by a baboon (yes, really), and somehow still manage to laugh. Welcome to the beginning of the disaster.

I used to be homeless...so I made a podcast about it.
