Tasha Kheiriddin is running for TDSB Trustee in Ward 7 (Toronto St Paul's, University Rosedale and Toronto Centre) at a time when Jewish students and families in Toronto's public schools need a strong advocate. She co-chairs the parent council at her daughter's school, so she already knows what families face and how much it matters when parents have a real voice. She is committed to academic achievement, safe and inclusive schools for all, meaningful parent engagement, and accountable leadership at the board. As a longtime columnist and commentator, she has never shied away from hard issues. That was clear in August, when she wrote in the National Post about the rise of antisemitism in Canada. She warned that hatred toward Jews has become more visible and more accepted, and argued that leaders must name it and confront it. Since October 7, Jewish students across the TDSB have faced harassment and exclusion with too little response from the people meant to protect them. Tasha's moral clarity is exactly what the board needs. She understands that "safe and inclusive for all" has to include Jewish students, and that antisemitism deserves the same seriousness as any other form of hate. A vote for Tasha Kheiriddin is a vote for a trustee who will stand up for Jewish families and hold the board to account. Episode 29 - Matthew Zaffino on Running to become a TSDB Trustee
Meet Matthew Zaffino: The CPA Running for School Board Trustee
With Ontario's municipal election just weeks away, we sit down with Matthew Zaffino, a CPA and father of two running for TDSB trustee in Etobicoke Centre–Lakeshore. Matthew unpacks what a school trustee actually does (and how new provincial rules just changed the job), why he thinks Ontario's education system has drifted from its top-five-in-the-world standing, and why he's betting on a back-to-basics approach — phonics, Minute Math, and evidence over trends. We also get into housing policy, teachers' unions, public land, and why he thinks numbers people belong at the school board table.
