About Accountability

In California, everything is over the top—from the politicians who rule like kings, to the criminals who pillage and plunder at will, to the deeply ridiculous figures who bear witness to it all. You truly have to see it, hear it, and sometimes even smell it to believe it. On Accountability, John Phillips and Randy Wang shine a spotlight on the madness of modern-day California. Covering California politics, crime, public safety, homelessness, elections, government spending, and the stories dominating California news, they break down the people, policies, and headlines shaping life in the Golden State. Using their own words and deeds, John and Randy hold politicians, activists, bureaucrats, con artists, and flim-flam men accountable for the chaos they create. If you've ever looked at a California headline and wondered, "How is this actually happening?" this is the podcast for you.

The ULTIMATE 2026 California Voter Guide (No BS)

Published 7 Oct 2026 · Transcript excerpt

[…] Proposition one would borrow $11. and a quarter billion dollars for housing projects here in California. You're a no on that. I am a no, and we're gonna do this pretty quick. So there's two reasons why you would wanna vote no on this. The first of which is that, of course, if you wanna solve the housing crisis in California, you don't do it by borrowing more money and handing it out to some people. That actually, when you do that without more housing, believe it or not, it actually drives up the price of housing for everyone else that isn't lucky enough to get some of this government-funded money And then of course, the other thing that's important to remember is that this is a, we call this a Christmas tree measure.
