My podcast enters its third regeneration since its conception in September 2022. First there was 'Acid Revolver', then 'The Monocled Alchemist' but now my focus has shifted to unwanted junk shop records I find in various locations in England.
I will concentrate on mixes based on these records. A new podcast name is necessary. Enter 'Junk Box Jury'. I hope you enjoy the trip as much as I do.
the concept
Rescuing vinyl records from junk shops, charity shops, market stalls and local community hubs. Any interesting, obscure and bizarre items found and secured for budget prices will be reviewed and given some promotion on my new blog ‘Junk Box Jury’.
I will digitise, master and create enjoyable music mixes from these unwanted pieces of plastic and who knows, you may like them too?
the qualification
The vinyl record has got to be found in-the-wild and purchased from any of the establishments outlined in ‘the concept’. No records bought online or from bricks and mortar shops are considered for inclusion on ‘Junk Box Jury.
the experience
‘Junk Box Jury’, where other people’s junk is this website’s treasure. Tune into oddities, budget label compilations, faceless studio cover-versions, theme tunes, bizarre noises, comedy, soundtracks and assorted vinyl record weirdness.
