Trevor Lawless, Dave Harris, and Shea Norman are three wanna-be actors taking some time each week to share the highs and lows of starting out in the entertainment industry. They discuss their lives, loves, and the never-ending pursuit of happiness, which almost always includes a beer or two. The conversations range from informative to insulting, but all are (hopefully) amusing. And if anything they say offends you, don't take it too seriously - they're just acting out.
In this episode, the guys break down Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein: the performances, the visuals, the themes, and the moments that hit hardest. From Oscar Isaac's razor-sharp delivery to Jacob Elordi's towering take on the creature, we get into why this adaptation feels both fresh and faithful.
We also talk about what the film says about responsibility, loneliness, and "merciless life," along with some very on-brand detours into movie theaters, streaming platforms, and the strange direction society seems to be heading.
If you've watched the film, you'll feel right at home. If you haven't, this episode might convince you to.

Black Phone 2
In this episode of The Acting Out Podcast, Trev, Dave, and Shea break down Black Phone 2, Ethan Hawke's supernatural return as everyone's favourite dead serial killer. We get into the Christian summer camp setting, the VHS-style dream sequences, and why this sequel somehow makes sense… even when it absolutely shouldn't.
We talk:
• Kids getting tossed around kitchens and stuffed in pizza ovens
• The camp owners dropping the most passive-aggressive "I'll pray for you" ever
• Why horror sequels struggle to stay grounded
• Whether this franchise can—or should—continue
• Trev's former life at a Christian retreat (don't ask)
It's chaotic, unhinged, and weirdly thoughtful. Classic us.
Listen in as we argue, overthink, and somehow still recommend the movie—just make sure you watch the first one (unlike Shea)

Weapons
The guys break down Weapons, the new horror from Barbarian director Zach Cregger. Dark, funny, and totally unpredictable, they dig into why it works, what freaked them out, and how it compares to Barbarian. Plus, a few wild tangents about serial killers, bad hangovers, and the infamous "Weed Me" shoot gone wrong.
