Confidence Chronicles: E6 - Trusting yourself through discomfort
What happens when understanding yourself doesn't necessarily make things easier?
In this episode of The Confidence Chronicles, I'm talking about the uncomfortable side of self-awareness and self-trust. The difficult conversations, the decisions that disappoint people, and the moments when we desperately want to fix something that might not be ours to fix.
I share how understanding my DISC style and Driving Forces helped me recognize the difference between who I know myself to be and how others might experience me, and why that realization changed the way I approach relationships, conflict, and uncomfortable situations.
We explore why being misunderstood can be so difficult, why we feel the need to explain ourselves, and what it looks like to take responsibility for how we show up without taking responsibility for how everyone else sees us.
Because knowing yourself doesn't mean you'll always get it right. And trusting yourself doesn't mean you'll always feel comfortable.
Sometimes it means recognizing your patterns, making room for growth, and learning to sit with the discomfort of being human.
Patterns, not problems.

Confidence Chronicles: E5 - Uncovering what you value
What actually matters to you?
Not what you’ve been told should matter. Not what looks good from the outside. Not what you’ve spent years believing you’re supposed to want.
In this episode of The Confidence Chronicles, we’re talking about values and the process of uncovering what’s actually yours.
Because sometimes it’s hard to know what you value when you’ve spent so much of your life checking the boxes, meeting expectations, or making decisions based on what you thought you were supposed to do.
We’ll talk about looking beneath the things you say are important to understand why they matter, recognizing the difference between your values and someone else’s expectations, and learning to trust yourself enough to let those values guide your choices.
You don’t need someone else to tell you what should matter to you.
Maybe the work is learning how to listen closely enough to yourself to uncover what already does.

Confidence Chronicles: E4 - Choosing who you get to be
How much of yourself are you willing to give up just to be successful or fit into a mold that was never really yours?
For a long time, I thought confidence would come from proving myself.
Proving I was capable. Proving I belonged. Proving I could handle more. I built the career, traveled for work, became a mom, kept achieving, and got really good at performing the version of success I thought I was supposed to want.
But that kind of proving comes with a cost.
In Episode 4 of The Confidence Chronicles, I'm talking about what that cost looked like for me. Traveling for work when my son was still a baby. Trying to navigate motherhood and postpartum while continuing to perform professionally. Doing my absolute best and still realizing that sometimes success requires you to play a game you don't actually want to play.
And eventually, I had to ask myself: What am I trying so hard to prove, and who am I proving it to?
Losing my mom made that question impossible to ignore. It changed the way I thought about time, success, and the life I actually wanted to be living.
I also think there's something bigger happening for a lot of us, especially those of us who grew up believing there was a formula: go to college, work hard, build the career, achieve more, and eventually you'll feel successful.
What happens when you do all of that and realize it isn't where confidence comes from?
Maybe confidence isn't about proving that you can keep performing.
Maybe it's trusting yourself enough to stop.
To question the mold.
And to decide for yourself what a successful life actually looks like.

Confidence Chronicles: E3 - Seeing Beyond Your Reflection
How much power do we give the mirror?
In this episode of The Confidence Chronicles, I’m talking about body image, self-compassion, and what happens when the way we feel about our appearance starts deciding how much of ourselves we bring into our lives.
I share a moment with my kids that made me see my body differently, memories of hugging my own mom, and a video of a woman standing in front of a mirror that left me thinking about one question:
Whose standards are we even following?
This isn't a conversation about forcing yourself to love your body or pretending you love what you see in the mirror.
It's about something a little gentler.
Can we notice when we're speaking to ourselves harshly? Can we question where those standards came from? Can we offer ourselves some of the same tenderness we so naturally give to the people we love?
And maybe most importantly, can we keep participating in our lives even on the days we don't feel great about what we see?
Because you don't have to find your body beautiful today to treat it with kindness. And you don't have to wait until you like your reflection to take part in your own life.
Your body doesn't exist for approval. It exists to carry your life.
Still working through it. Still allowed to be here.

Confidence Chronicles: E2 - Embracing your Imperfect Self
Welcome back to Confidence Chronicles, a series within Actually, Same where we’re exploring what it means to build confidence by learning to trust yourself again.
In Episode 1, we started with self-awareness and getting to know yourself a little better. This time, we’re talking about what happens when you actually start letting that person be seen, imperfections and all.
We’ll talk about the inner critic (mine has a name, because apparently she needed one), the fear of being judged or misunderstood, and why being yourself can sometimes feel a whole lot more vulnerable than it sounds.
Because embracing who you are doesn’t mean suddenly loving every part of yourself or never caring what anyone thinks. It’s learning to recognize the voice telling you to shrink, second-guess yourself, or change who you are, and deciding it doesn’t always get to be in charge.
So whether you’re confident one minute and questioning everything the next... actually, same.
Here’s to showing up as yourself anyway.

Confidence Chronicles: E1 - Discovering You
Welcome to the first episode of Confidence Chronicles, a series within Actually, Same where we explore what it means to build confidence by learning to trust yourself again.
Today we're starting at the beginning: self-awareness. Because confidence isn't about becoming someone else. It's about getting to know yourself a little better.
We'll talk about the stories we tell ourselves, why we lose sight of who we are, and a few simple ways to start building confidence from the inside out.
Whether you're driving to work, out for a walk, or hiding in your bathroom for five minutes of peace (I've been there), I'm so glad you're here.
Here's to learning to trust yourself again.
