This show is about the conversations people hesitate to have, the ones that feel too personal or too complex to ask out loud. It’s a space to explore the people who are pushing to be seen in the disability community and the people whose work isn’t always visible but deeply shapes the lives lived within this space. These conversations are rooted in the social model of disability and in the belief that disability doesn’t define us. This is intentional, honest dialogue about identity, community, and the experiences that shape how we move through the world.
Adaptive: The Community Podcast is stepping into a new chapter. This reboot is intentional, honest, and shaped by real lived experience. The show explores identity, disability, community, and the moments that influence how we move through the world. These conversations are not surface level. They are human, direct, and rooted in the stories people rarely get the chance to tell.
Each episode brings forward voices that reflect modern disability culture and the complexity of growing into who you are. If you are looking for conversations that feel real and grounded, this is the place to be.

Reimagining the shoe one zipper at a time.
Shoes do they always need to be laced? On today's episode of Adaptive the community podcast we talk to Billy Price the cofounder of Billy footwear. A company that is flipping the shoe industry on its head by opening that shoe right up.
As a teenager, Seattle native Billy Price suffered a spinal cord injury and became paralyzed from the chest down, losing the ability to move his fingers. Daily tasks became difficult, but using his creative mind and unyielding spirit, he never gave up. He continued on, facing life's challenges with tenacity and determination.
Born out of a need, BILLY Footwear was founded on the principle of inclusion and perseverance. Along with co-founder Darin Donaldson, Billy strives to add value to the lives of others and make a measurable difference in the world, one foot at a time.
