Parenting An Adoptee with Special Needs (Stephanie & Ryan's Story)
When Stephanie and her husband Ryan were offered a placement of a baby girl with ongoing health needs, they stepped up to what they believed was a calling from God to adopt this precious little one. Stephanie shares how theycould trace God’s provision and faithfulness to them throughout the adoption journey and talks about how they learned to support their daughter’s needs over the followingyears.
She notes that while there was much encouragement from her community, the journey still felt lonely at times as adoption and parenting a child with ongoing health issues can feel isolating when not everyone can relate. Family Times Two (Lil's Story)
What happens when one woman, adopted in the 1930s as a young child, decides to search for her birth family decades later? We are so honored today to share Lil’s story of exploring her biological heritage. We discuss the changing attitude of society toward adoption over the years and how that impacted Lil as an adoptee. Lil passed away in 2025, andwe are grateful that her daughter Cindy was willing to be interviewed and share her mom’s story.
