Advancing the Mission is a podcast of County Line Church in Auburn, IN. Advancing the Mission is a podcast where we keep you informed and up to date about what is happening in local outreach, global missions, and church multiplication through the lens of County Line Church.
What happens when County Line Church chooses to partner with a ministry for more than a decade?
This week on Advancing the Mission, we sit down with Todd and Amy Block, U.S. Directors for Village of Hope Guatemala, one of County Line Church's longest-standing global ministry partners. County Line has been partnering with Village of Hope since 2011, and this conversation gives us a glimpse into the incredible ways God has worked through that partnership over the years.
Todd and Amy share the heart behind Village of Hope and their desire to see children, families, and communities experience lasting transformation through the hope of Jesus. We talk about the people of Guatemala, the culture, and why it's important to look beyond poverty and statistics to see the dignity, strength, joy, and faith of the people God has created and loves.
Throughout the conversation, Todd and Amy share stories of lives that have been transformed through Village of Hope and reflect on moments when they could only step back and say, "Only God could have done this." They also talk about the unique role short-term mission teams play—not simply in serving and blessing the people of Guatemala, but in allowing God to change the hearts and perspectives of those who travel there.
Whether you've traveled to Guatemala with County Line, have been praying for Village of Hope for years, or are hearing about the ministry for the first time, this conversation will give you a deeper understanding of why long-term missions partnerships matter—and what can happen when we faithfully say yes to what God is doing around the world.

Episode 264: Lautaro Churuvija, Steiger International (Part 2)
What does it take to reach a generation that has little interest in church—but is still searching for hope, purpose, and truth?
This week on Advancing the Mission, we begin a special two-part conversation with Lautaro Churuvija from Steiger International, one of County Line Church's newest ministry partners. Steiger exists to mobilize followers of Jesus to reach the global youth culture—especially young adults who would never consider walking into a church.
In Part 1, Lautaro shares his incredible testimony of how God radically transformed his life and called him into missionary work. From his own journey of faith to serving young people around the world, his story is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God's grace.
In Part 2, we take a deeper look at the mission of Steiger and why their approach is so needed in today's culture. Lautaro explains the unique challenges of reaching young adults who are skeptical of faith, disconnected from the Church, or simply uninterested in traditional ministry. Together, we discuss why the Church must be willing to go where people are, build authentic relationships, and communicate the gospel in ways that connect with those who have never experienced it.
One of the central themes of this conversation is developing a heart for people who are far from God. We explore what it means to allow God to break our hearts for the lost, why compassion must lead us into action, and how every follower of Jesus can become more intentional about sharing the hope of the gospel in everyday life.
Whether you're passionate about evangelism, interested in global missions, or simply asking how the Church can better reach the next generation, this conversation will encourage and challenge you to see the lost the way Jesus does.

[…] And so, yeah, I just, I love the journey that you took us on there. So I do want to talk a little bit about a book you wrote, Locus Effect. When we first started kind of looking into IJM and joining and partnering with them, that was a book that that I read and just it's where you talk about trafficking around the world and how in order to end it we must end violence. So I'd love to hear you kind of talk about how you discovered this, how violence is connected and maybe how IJM is living out that philosophy. Yeah, thanks, Chris. The subtitle of The Locust Effect is Why the End of Poverty Requires the End of Violence. […]
