S04E02 | Exploration | Building Bridges in Education
In this episode of Adventures in Teaching, we explore what it means to build bridges in engineering education. More specifically, on how educators can support students with different backgrounds and different preparation levels, while fostering belonging and growth.
We are joined with Ilke Ercan, Associate Professor and Chair of Electrical Engineering Education at TU Delft, who shares her work focussed on redesigning the first-year experience to make engineering education more accessible, structured and human, meeting students where they are without lowering standards of TU Delft education. Student Eva Horlings will join the conversation and provides us more insights from a student perspective.
Together, they dive into bridging the gap between high school and university, designing learning experiences for diverse backgrounds, and creating environments where students can grow with confidence.
A must-listen for educators and students interested in fostering inclusion and strengthening the foundations of learning.
