AFAAM is a podcast about building a real, disciplined life in the Philippines — not escaping into a fantasy version of it. Hosted by A Filipino American Around Manila, the show explores identity, work, relationships, and what intentional living actually looks like abroad.
K1NGKONG is one of the most recognizable young players in MLBB — but how did he become the SIGMA Jungler?
In Episode 25 of AFAAM, I sit down with K1NGKONG of ONIC PH to talk about his journey from a young player to one of the biggest names in the MLBB scene.
We talk about:
• How he became K1NGKONG
• His journey as a professional MLBB player
• What it's like becoming successful at a young age
• The support he's received from his fans
• The people who believed in him from the beginning
• His parents and the role they've played in his journey
• The pressure to keep improving
• What he wants to achieve next
One moment that really stood out to me was when K1NGKONG simply said:
“I really have to thank my parents.”
Behind the Sigma Jungler is a young player still growing, learning, and figuring out who he wants to become.
This is K1NGKONG's story.

#23 - 10 Seasons Later, I Still Don’t Know What I’m Doing | Solo Episode
10 seasons. 5 years. And somehow, I still don't really know what I'm doing.
I'm about to start my 10th season in esports and my 5th year working in MLBB — and for the first time, I actually stopped to think about how strange that is.
I never planned to become an esports commentator. My career has taken me through teaching, modeling, gaming, streaming, content creation, voice work, esports, and now podcasting. For most of my life, I thought I was just taking random detours.
Maybe I was actually building something the whole time.
In this solo episode of AFAAM, I reflect on five years of building an unconventional career — the opportunities, the uncertainty, the pressure, the lessons, and the parts people don't see.
I talk about what esports has taught me, how my definition of success has changed, why even doing well can still feel uncertain, and what I want the next five years of my life to look like.
Because maybe you don't need to have your life figured out.
Maybe you just need to keep building.
