It has already been shown that Anthropic did a study and they showed that their software engineers who heavily used AI coding agents were losing their own coding skills. Those who heavily used the agents performed 17% worse on a testing of their skills than those who did not. This has been shown in other fields as well. In medicine, for example, doctors who routinely use AI for a diagnosis have been shown to start losing their own intuitive insights and diagnosing skills themselves.
