[…] Oh. We're broke. And I was devastated at the prospect of returning to a worse job with worse pay. My boyfriend, 40M, heard me crying and asked what was wrong. He said, it's not your fault. You shouldn't feel guilty. I explained that I wasn't feeling guilty. I was grieving the opportunity. He said I'd get a better job next time. I told him we couldn't know that. So it wasn't comforting and I wasn't looking for a solution. Yeah. I recognize that was the wrong thing to say. He insisted it was the truth and I wasn't listening.
