But this is the beautiful thing about James in the book of James. I love it because what James is doing in that scripture is giving us a pace for what a healthy relationship looks like. so what he's really saying is if you can learn to slow down yeah you'll actually hear better and when and then that means that you understand what a person is saying and when you understand more about what your wife is trying to tell you because you're listening what happens is you become less defensive yeah and when you're not defensive then things don't blow out of proportion so good all because you're listening it's a simple shift but it makes a huge difference So the verse teaches couples an important truth that you see you don't have to win the moment to win in your marriage.
