About All Nations Presbyterian Church: Afternoon Sermon Series
All Nations Presbyterian Church in Perth is a Bible-believing church. We hold to the Bible being God’s word, and we value sermons that are faithful to the Bible while also being relevant and applied to those who listen. This podcast features the sermons preached in the afternoon service each week. The main preacher is Tim Ireland, with guest preachers at regular intervals.
Last Sunday afternoon we closed our prayer day by looking at Psalm 13, a psalm of lament together. We saw that faced with suffering and despair, David cried out to God: how long, O LORD, how long? Like David, it is okay for us to ask God the deepest questions of our hearts. As our perfect Heavenly Father, God loves to hear us cry to Him in prayer, even when we are confused and overwhelmed with grief and pain. Even more, we saw that David also tells God the deepest desires of his heart and prays for a growing relationship with God amid the pain. Whatever we are facing, we too can be honest with God about the desires of our hearts and ask for a sense of God’s presence in the middle of our struggles. Finally, we saw that because God has dealt so graciously with David in the past, David is confident that he can continue to trust God for the future. As Christians, we too know God’s past grace to us in Jesus Christ, so we can confidently trust in God to continue to provide for us whatever may come next in our lives. This week, take some time to re-read Psalm 13 and then use this psalm to help shape your prayers to God.

Acts 13:13-52 - It's All About Jesus
Last Sunday afternoon, we heard Paul’s very first recorded sermon in Acts 13:13-52 together. We saw that this long sermon can be summed up in just one word: Jesus. Paul’s sermon reminds us that history centers on Jesus, the Bible centers on Jesus, and faithful preaching centers on Jesus. We face many worries in life, but it is a great comfort to know that God moved all of human history to bring our Savior into this world. Jesus lived, died, and rose again to save us from our sins, just as God promised in the OT. Even now, God is still moving human history toward the return of our Savior, when He will wipe away all our tears. Every Sunday, when we hear God’s Word faithfully preached, God reminds us of these glorious truths yet again. This week, take some time to read back through Acts 13, paying attention to how Paul’s entire sermon centers on Jesus Christ. Then, pray that God would open our eyes to see Jesus on the pages of Scripture and that God would help our pastors to faithfully preach Jesus Christ from God’s Word week-by-week.

Acts 13:4-12 - Nothing Can Stop God's Word
Last Sunday afternoon, we heard about the spiritual battle between the apostle Paul and the magician Elymas from Acts 13:4-12. This passage reminds us that when God’s Word is proclaimed, sometimes people show interest in learning more about Jesus. At the same time, however, when God’s Word is proclaimed, there is always spiritual war, as Satan tries to deceive people and turn them away from the truth of Jesus Christ. Two thousand years after Acts 13, we are still engaged in the same spiritual war, and Satan is still trying his best to turn people away from Jesus. Yet even in this spiritual conflict, we have hope: Jesus Christ has won the victory over Satan, and the Holy Spirit lives within us empowering us for the spiritual fight. This week, take some time to thank God that Jesus has triumphed over Satan, pray that God would open your eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare, and ask God for the help of His Spirit to continue fighting against sin and to continue boldly sharing God’s Word as God gives us opportunity.
