Each week I sit down it feels like lifetimes have passed since last writing to you. I hope you are faring well out there, genuinely. Wrapped inside this little care package is a ritual + tarot spread to support your New Moon renewal.</p><p>This New Moon is curious; the luminaries will converge at 21* of Cancer, not exactly aspecting anyone else. Mercury Rx will have just passed over the Sun, so we revel in the afterglow of the Cazimi with this Lunation. It feels like a breath, the space between inhale + exhale. An opportunity to clear something.</p><p>This week also brings the opening aspects of Barbault’s Basket, the configuration of outer planets that hasn’t happened for hundreds of years. The planets involved are all in Air + Fire signs, so the theme of ignition continues to amplify. What does wind do to fire? It fuels the flame.</p><p>The French Astrologer (André Barbault) who identified this configuration predicted that it will be the impetus for massive international change. So we can only hope; our work is in becoming the active participant in this process.</p><p>I have felt more so recently, that in order to become such an agent of change myself, I must do the work of releasing old models about myself and the world that actually serve as barriers to true participation. The old stories, the wrought patterns, all that inhibits my ability to actually respond to The Call. I feel this Cancer New Moon is a moment to do exactly this; clear the path from within. </p><p>Below is a New Moon Ritual + Tarot Spread for this reason. ✧ On Animism ✧ a little chat
<p>Hello beloveds! I truly hope you’re all faring well out there. Here with a little pared-down share this week, in regards to my relationship to Animism. As I prepare to anchor a course through Ancestral Medicine on <a target="_blank" href="https://ancestralmedicine.org/online-course/animism/?v=0b3b97fa6688">Animism + Earth Reconnection</a>, it has me thinking a LOT about my own relationship to these topics and the teachings that have been so graciously shared with me over the years.</p><p>I talk a bit about my own journey of reconnection, how it applies to my practice of animistic astrology, and the need for these lifeways to be embodied rather than intellectualized to foster true relationship.</p><p>If you’re interested in more along this conversation, check out the course. We begin July 21st, and the live calls will be on Tuesdays at 8pm EST for 12 weeks.</p><p>I’ll let the recording speak for itself here, but know that I am very much (and always will be) just as much a student of these stirrings. Especially as a grandchild of diaspora, so much of this has been the lived reality of my own reconnection process. It is a holy kind of homecoming, an ancestral remembrance and above all else, a birthright of belonging. May this be the pathway back into such depth of intimacy.</p><p>About the Course:</p><p>Previously titled Practical Animism, this course offers an experiential inquiry into how to live with more heart, humility, and connection. It blends animist or Earth-honoring ethics, ritual practice, and sharp cultural analysis. Together, we’ll explore reverence beyond belief, relationship beyond blood, and connection beyond the human. Drawing on diverse Earth-honoring lineages of practice as well as “new animist” teachings, this course examines the soul of kinship, the weight of loss, and the sacred possibilities still available in a world shaped by rupture, beauty, and responsibility.</p><p>This course does not offer doctrine or a set of fixed beliefs. It supports a reorientation of the self in a web of relationships—seen and unseen, human and other-than-human. It’s a course for those seeking heart-centered ritual, sacred accountability, and frameworks for connection rooted in care, complexity, and respect.</p> <br/><br/>This is a public episode. ✧ Week Ahead ✧ July 5th, 2026 ~ JULY MONTH AHEAD⁺˚⋆♋︎₊⊹
<p>Hello beloveds. How we doin out there? Each day has felt like a lifetime, which is usually a sign of some serious tectonic plates shifting in time/space reality. Lots of change underfoot, a constant tide to swim amidst. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad nor stressful thing, but of course it all depends on how we choose to relate to it. I’m taking notes on that daily.</p><p>As I sat down to record the podcast this week, there was a really clear sense that I needed to zoom out and see beyond the Astrology itself. To get the whole picture, I ended up doing a lot of divination and this reading is the result of that. Lots of helpful messages came through that were good medicine for me to take in, and I’m hopeful they are for you too.</p><p>The first 2/3 of the podcast is mainly divinatory messages, and the latter third is the astrology of the week ahead. At a high level; Neptune stations retrograde, Venus enters Virgo and immediately passes over the South Node who is currently conjunct the Fixed Star Regulus. Lots of power there.</p><p>I’m sharing this podcast as free for all subscribers. If you’re new here, usually the podcast is paywalled but I’ll occasionally post one that’s open for all. Let me know how it lands, I’m genuinely curious if it resonates! </p><p>In Other News…</p><p>This Summer I’ll be teaching a Course on Animism + Earth Reconnection through Ancestral Medicine. This was the first course I had taken with Daniel Foor before joining the organization as a practitioner almost 7 years ago, so it’s a huge honor and full circle moment to be the Lead Teacher for this class.</p><p>We will talk about the many-faceted dimensions of Animism both in theory and praxis, discussing how to embody these Earth-Honoring Ethics in our walk. The intention is to develop an all-encompassing relationality to the more-than-human world, and the many other Beings that we share the landscape with; both seen + unseen. If you’re interested, check it out!</p><p>The course begins on July 21st, and I’ll be anchoring the live calls on Tuesdays at 8pm NYC time.
