How Faith, Feminism, and Politics Are Driving Young Men and Women Apart
Same generation. Different convictions. What’s pulling young men and women in opposite political directions?
In part one, Austin Tucker, B.D. Fleming, and Robbie Stringer examine the Gen Z political gender gap discussed in The Guardian’s 2024 reporting. We consider how Christians should evaluate the information, question the assumptions behind the headlines, and recognize the competing worldviews shaping our sons and daughters.
What happens when men and women are taught to view one another as rivals? How has feminism shaped our understanding of freedom, marriage, and responsibility? And does identifying as conservative mean someone actually thinks biblically? Scripture sets the standard, including when our own political tribe needs correcting.

When Division Becomes a Sin
Some people divide a church from the pulpit. Others do it in the parking lot. Pride calls itself discernment. Gossip calls itself a prayer request. Personal ambition calls itself a burden for the church.
In this episode of Altars & Ashes, Austin Tucker, B.D. Fleming, and Robbie Stringer examine what Scripture says about those who sow discord, gather factions, and draw disciples after themselves. From Korah’s rebellion to Diotrephes’ hunger for preeminence, we consider how division takes root and what faithful Christians must do when it does.
But biblical unity requires truth. Honest concerns deserve a hearing, leaders remain accountable to Scripture, and confronting false teaching can protect the fellowship of the church. Paul’s confrontation of Peter shows why keeping quiet isn’t always keeping the peace.
We discuss refusing gossip, receiving correction, pursuing restoration, and protecting the flock when persistent division demands discipline.
Christ purchased His church with His blood. You do not get to tear apart what Christ died to gather.

Just & Necessary? Iran, Israel, and Who Goes to War
When should Christians support a war? The 1689 Baptist Confession permits rulers to wage war on “just and necessary occasions.” In this episode, B.D. Fleming, Austin Tucker, and Robbie Stringer examine what those words require as we discuss Iran, America’s relationship with Israel, and who should fight…and decide.
In this episode:
* The sword under God: The authority and responsibility of civil rulers.
* Just and necessary: What the 1689 and Calvin teach about lawful war.
* The Iran war: Its justification, objectives, costs, and conditions for peace.
* America’s greatest ally? How to assess our relationship with Israel when national interests align or diverge.
* Israel and Scripture: Whether biblical promises require support for the modern state’s military policies.
* Who fights, who decides? Women in combat and whether exemption from fighting should affect authority to vote for war.
* The households who bear the cost: Our obligations to servicemen, their families, and civilians caught in the fighting.
Read alongside the episode: Romans 13:1–7; Psalm 82:3–4; Luke 3:14; 1 Timothy 2:1–2; the 1689 Baptist Confession, chapter 24; and Calvin’s Institutes, 4.20.11–12.
A question to carry with you: What evidence would change your judgment about a war you currently support or oppose?
