Alternative Frequencies | غيّر الموجة is a new bilingual podcast by the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies - a Beirut-based, independent, and non-profit research organization - dropping new episodes every Tuesday at 5PM (UTC+3). Recognizing a renewed interest in understanding the factors that led Lebanon into its overlapping crises, and wanting to discuss ways to move forward during these uncertain times, LCPS brings you informed 30-minute conversations with experts, scholars and activists on a range of pressing issues that concern all those interested in Lebanon and its ongoing developments.

[…] But when teachers closed schools, now education is not available to even access. And the consequence of that has been in what the research community refers to as learning losses. Now learning losses, children have fallen behind in their conceptual knowledge by up to two years. So when you have a child in fifth grade, they're actually entering fifth grade with third grade conceptual knowledge. It's not just about falling behind conceptually. We've also seen when children return to school, they have fallen behind also in motivation. They are struggling to reacclimate ties to the norms of the classroom. […]
