Welcome to Ambar in Real Life, a personal audio journal exploring the beautiful, messy, and transformative journey of becoming.
Through solo reflections and heartfelt conversations with people in my life, I open up about what it really looks like to grow—in health, in love, in work, and in the relationship I have with myself.
Some episodes are raw readings from my Substack blog, others are unscripted dialogues that go deeper.
If you're navigating your own path of self-discovery and craving real talk and connection, you’re in the right place.

I’ve known Zullymar for over ten years, and this is a conversation we’ve wanted to have for a long time.
We talk about body positivity, the messages we see on social media, and how those messages can shape the way we see ourselves.
We also share some of our own experiences and ask a bigger question: what does it actually mean to love and accept yourself?
In this episode, we talk about:
* The relationship between body positivity and self-love
* How social media influences our ideas about beauty
* Body image, confidence, and self-worth
* The role of movement and personal growth
* Looking beyond the mirror to understand what makes us beautiful
This is an honest conversation between two friends sharing their perspectives. We don’t claim to have all the answers.
But we hope it gives you something to think about, even if your own experience looks different from ours.
If you need help with any of the issues we discussed here, please consider looking for professional, medical advice.

029 | Stress Is Trying to Tell Me Something
For a long time, I thought I needed to get rid of stress.
If I was stressed, something was wrong.
And if something was wrong, I needed to fix it.
Simple enough, right?
Except I’ve started realizing that maybe stress isn’t always the thing that needs fixing.
Maybe sometimes it’s the thing trying to get my attention.
Because I can be incredibly good at functioning while I’m stressed.
I can answer emails. Get my work done. Exercise. Cook dinner. Show up for people. Keep moving.
And meanwhile, my body is basically saying, Hey. Something is happening here.
And I’m like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. But I have things to do.
Subscribe for more honest reflections on becoming your favorite version of yourself.
In this episode of Ambar in Real Life, I explore:
* Why I’ve stopped thinking about stress as something I simply need to eliminate
* How we can become so used to stress that we stop recognizing it as a signal
* The difference between what’s actually happening and the stories we create about what might happen
* How I’ve learned to listen to stress through journaling, movement, rest, and simply slowing down
* Why self-awareness can sometimes become another form of perfectionism
* What it means to notice sooner instead of immediately trying to fix how we feel
And maybe the question I’m learning to ask is a little different:
What is this feeling trying to tell me?

028 | Make Room for What Matters
I used to think I had a productivity problem.
My to-do list kept getting longer. Important things kept getting pushed aside. And somehow, I could work all day and still go to bed feeling like I hadn’t accomplished anything.
Eventually, I realized I didn’t need to become more productive.
I needed a system that actually worked with the way I live.
So I created a simple three-step ritual for planning my days. Nothing complicated. Nothing that requires a fancy productivity app.
Just a way to see everything clearly, give the things that matter a place in my day, and start the morning already knowing what deserves my attention.
And the more I’ve used it, the more I’ve realized that planning isn’t really about doing more.
It’s about making sure the things that matter don’t get forgotten.
If you enjoy these honest conversations about personal growth, adulthood, and learning how to build a life that actually feels like yours, consider subscribing so you don’t miss the next episode. I’d love to have you here.
In this episode, I talk about:
* Why I started planning my days
* How a lack of planning affected my writing
* Why important things kept getting pushed aside
* The three-step ritual I use to plan my days
* Planning around energy instead of just time
* Why flexibility is part of a good plan
* Why making room for what matters can actually be a form of self-respect
Because if we don’t decide what deserves our attention, something else will.
And most of the time, that something else is someone else’s priority.
A little something to think about:
What deserves a place in your day before the world decides what gets your attention?
