Scripture: 2 Corinthians 8
Pastor: Warren Harvey
Date: October 4, 2026
The Bible tells us that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7), and Jesus himself said that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Indeed, the very heart of the gospel flows from the generosity of God who gave his only Son, and of Jesus who laid down his life for us. Which is why the habit of generosity is vital to a healthy soul. Paul in his 2nd letter to the Corinthians, holds up the Macedonian church as a beautiful model of the grace of giving, and a prime example of what's involved in cultivating a habit of generosity.
Topics: generosity, grace of giving, 2 Corinthians 8, Christian generosity, Macedonian churches, hardship, poverty, Jesus Christ, giving oneself, practical service

The Habit of Humble Serving
Pastor: Greg Duke
Date: September 27, 2026
This Sunday morning, as we continue our sermon series, “Habits of a Healthy Soul”, we’ll look to Philippians 2:1–11 to discover what it truly means to serve one another. Paul invites us to have the same mindset as Christ Jesus, who, though he was God, humbled himself, took the form of a servant, and gave his life for us. What would change in our homes, our church, and our community if we followed his example?
Topics: humble service, humility, self-forgetfulness, Philippians 2, church unity, Christ’s example, self-emptying, servant-like obedience, gospel, practical habits

The Habit of Belonging
Scripture: Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:19-25
Pastor: Warren Harvey
Date: September 20, 2026
The need for relationship and community is built into the soul of man as created in God’s image. “It is not good for man to be alone” is a statement from God born out of the fact that we were created for relationship not only with God, but with our fellow man. We often associate this need as primarily being met in the covenant of marriage, which it is, but not exclusively, for all are not called to marry. It is fundamentally met in our belonging to the covenant family of God, the bride of Christ, the church. This is where we are brought into communion and thus community with brothers and sister in Christ to live in love, unity and mutual encouragement with one another. Thus a healthy soul is a soul in fellowship with other believers.
Topics: Christian fellowship, belonging, Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:19–25, church community, union with God, Christ, teaching, prayer, shared possessions, encouragement, isolation
