Established in 2019, An Album a Day ("A3Day") is an English-language music commentary podcast "explorin' all the industry from A to Z." Journey through every album available within the K-pop, indie and underground with fac-based and opinionated commentary with each "shortcast" episode.
This will not be like previous album reviews I’ve written because there will be hundreds available on this as it is.
My genuine reaction is preserved on my Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/posts/1st-listen-bts-153559696?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link) for members to enjoy, so there’s no need to rehash everything. In fact, here’s some reviews worth checking out:
Kim Do Heon’s phenomenial “BTS [ARIRANG] : Not a Comeback Album — A Distress Signal” (https://www.realzenerate.com/review_btsarreng/) for Zenerate
The BBC’s performance overview (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj371jr203ko) by Yuna Ku and Jake Kwon
The Forbes album op-ed (https://www.forbes.com/sites/hannahabraham/2026/03/20/mature-ferocious-uneven-bts-arirang-reviews-are-in/) by Hannah Abraham
Michael Craig’s “BTS: Arirang review – the world’s biggest pop band return with dumb fun and downright weirdness” (https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/mar/20/bts-arirang-review-the-worlds-biggest-pop-band-return-with-dumb-fun-and-downright-weirdness) for The Guardian (albeit I don’t usually acknowledge this publication due to various controversies, this piece was decent)
A bonus op-ed from The Idol Cast (https://www.theidolcast.com/) was shared with me by way of Kpop Bookshelf (https://www.instagram.com/kpopbookshelf/) that also had me shocked but agreeing in some ways. Check it out on their blog: https://www.theidolcast.com/posts/bts-is-a-mirage (https://www.theidolcast.com/posts/bts-is-a-mirage)
