In this episode of An Old Dragon and a House Dog Talk Movies we discuss Renfield (2023). We aren't sure if this is a horror/comedy or an action/comedy, but either way this was perfect for our Halloween month. Directed by Chris McKay and Staring Nicholas Hoult as Renfield, Nicolas Cage as Dracula and Awkwafina as Rebecca Quincy. This is a vampire movie with a twist. The main character Renfield seems to want to turn over a new leaf after following an unsuspecting victim in to a group meeting for people in abusive relationships. The movie left us talking about things like why does sunlight hurt Dracula? And when did that idea even start? Who was the character Renfield in the original story?
