In this Foundations series Q&A session, we explore how ancient scripture speaks directly to our modern struggles with faith, origins, and purpose. Looking closely at Genesis 1, we discover that the creation account functions as an artistic literary masterpiece designed to reveal God’s order and intent, rather than a modern scientific manual. When we stop forcing our cultural assumptions onto the ancient text, we find room for thoughtful reconciliation between scientific study and biblical authority, while recognizing human beings as the treasured caretakers of God’s world.
Watch this video to discover what the phrase "let us make man in our image" reveals about spiritual warfare, divine purpose, and true Christian unity today.

Foundations | The Gift
Join us this week as Mike discusses the biblical theme of exile, showing that the Babylonian captivity is the archetypal picture of our human condition—we all live in a counterfeit Eden, longing for true home while hanging up our harps by the rivers. God’s unconditional promise through Abraham remains, yet Israel’s repeated unfaithfulness led to the exile warned of in Deuteronomy, revealing that the problem is not external oppressors or Babylon itself but the human heart that needs transformation. Jeremiah 31 promises a new covenant where God writes his law on our hearts, forgives sins, and brings us home. Jesus fulfills this by becoming the exile on the cross, paying the costly price with his blood so we who were far off are brought near as members of God’s household. Through repentance that owns the heart’s problem, baptism that dies to Babylon’s life, faith in his resurrection, and the Spirit’s indwelling, we receive a new heart and live as elect exiles seeking the city’s welfare. May this truth turn your eyes from the wrong hope to the gift of a new heart today. Watch on Youtube, Our Website - or listen on your favorite podcast app.

Foundations | The Promise
Join us this week as Mike discusses God's response to the world's brokenness in Genesis 15. After the nations were scattered in rebellion, God began a rescue through Abram, promising that through him and his offspring all nations would be blessed. The promise looked impossible. Abram was childless, afraid after rescuing Lot, and still waiting. Fear often becomes the catalyst for doubt. God answered with patience, not rebuke, and called him to count the stars. Abram believed the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Faith is trust in a saving God; it is not our grip that saves us, but the anchor we trust. In a covenant cut in blood, God alone passed between the pieces, vowing to be cut off if he failed and to remain faithful even if Abram did not. That vow is kept when Jesus is cut off for us, so the blessing comes by faith. While we wait, drive away the birds of prey and hold fast to the sure anchor.
