Analog God / Digital World is a podcast exploring the intersection of faith, culture, and story, where we challenge inherited assumptions and join in cross generation dialogue to surface ancient wisdom for modern living.
Hosts: Reverend Dr. Ed Cook and (not a doctor, but still human) Morgan Hummel.
Ed and Morgan unpack why the phrase "toxic masculinity" might actually be hindering the very conversations men (and the rest of us) need to have. Instead of relying on buzzwords that alienate and shame, we explore the real crisis beneath the surface: chronic male isolation and the damaging myth of hyper-independence.

Part Two: Separation of Church and State
In a world where the line between religion and politics feels increasingly blurred, Ed and Morgan take a deep dive into one of the most foundational and heavily debated principles in American history: the separation of church and state.
Where did this phrase actually come from? (Hint: It’s not actually in the Constitution!) In this episode, Ed and Morgan unpack the historical roots of the concept, every generations role in making history, scripture and traditions understandable for the next generation. And Morgan argues the way for Christians to rise up against Christian Nationalism is to stop saying fringe groups are not "real" Christians, whatever that means.

Between Doubt and Certainty, Part Two: Our Addiction to Certainty
“Between Doubt and Certainty” is a two part series. In this episode, Ed and I discuss how doubt can be one of the greatest assets of a thinking person. Our relationship with doubt can be complicated, but it can also be liberating if we allow ourselves to move through it.
Part One: Doubt (Honoring what we cannot live with)

Juneteenth: The History I Wasn't Taught in School
This episode of Analog God / Digital World is taking a moment to learn and reflect about Juneteenth. What happens when a nation celebrates freedom but leaves our part of the story? This episode provides a brief history on Juneteenth, the true end of slavery in the United States, and the gap between what was taught in classrooms and the erasure of others.
We invite you to personally reflect on your story. What do we need to learn and unlearn to gain a fuller depiction of the human experience.

PRIDE: We Need to Talk About “Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin”
Is "love the sinner, hate the sin" actually biblical, or is it just a comfortable way to avoid real inclusion? This week, we are tackling one of the biggest sticking points in the modern church: the chasm between being a "welcoming" church and an affirming one. We discuss why partial inclusion is no longer enough, how our own theology has evolved, and why the future of the Christian faith depends on absolute queer affirmation.
This is an honest (maybe too honest), unfiltered conversation about faith, harm, healing, and why changing your mind is sometimes the most faithful thing you can do.

Jesus vs Christian Nationalism
In this episode, Ed and Morgan unpack the rise of Christian nationalism and ask the question: would Jesus endorse it? Along the way, they explore the difference between “power over” and “power under,” how the pursuit of dominance shapes both politics and faith, and why genuine community feels harder to find in the digital age. As online outrage replaces meaningful conversation, they ask what it would look like to recover dialogue, rediscover belonging, and rethink power.

Holy Shift! Two Testimonies, Way Less Certainty
Ed and Morgan explain why they started this podcast. Where two or more are gathered, things get deconstructed. And sometimes reconstructed, other times composted and sometimes nothing at all.
