The Supernatural Dimension of the Gospel - Apostle Segun Obadje
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not an ordinary message; it is the power of God to deliver and transform everyone who believes. It carries the power to transform lives, heal the sick, deliver people from oppression, and demonstrate the reality of God's Kingdom. Every believer has been commissioned by the Lord and empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach this Gospel and participate in the supernatural works of God.
Our authority to preach the Gospel rests on the authority of Jesus Christ, who has commissioned us to make disciples of all nations. This commission comes with divine backing and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, preaching the Gospel should be accompanied by faith and an expectation of God's power at work. As Jesus sent His disciples with authority over the power of the enemy, believers today must walk in the consciousness of the Holy Spirit within them and exercise the authority given to them in Christ.
However, experiencing the supernatural dimension of the Gospel requires more than knowing that we have been commissioned. We must actively preach the Gospel and take responsibility for carrying out God's instructions. Although God leads and empowers us, we have a responsibility to take the necessary steps of obedience. Our relationship with Him is one of divine partnership: He orders our steps, but we must be willing to walk in them. Consistent action, obedience, and dependence on the Holy Spirit are essential to fulfilling our divine assignment.
The teaching of God's Word is equally important because it brings believers into the knowledge of their identity, authority, and calling in Christ. We must also remain vigilant against the schemes of the enemy, refusing to give him a foothold in our lives.
Every believer must therefore embrace the responsibility of preaching the Gospel, walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, and responding to God's leading through practical obedience. We must continually develop our spiritual capacity and remain prepared for the assignments and challenges that arise. God has made His power available to us, but we must actively partner with Him to see that power demonstrated through the preaching of the Gospel.
