After Soylent Green
Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, human crackers, and the end of civilization. More than fifty years after Soylent Green arrived in theaters, I'm still thinking about its miserable vision of the future.
This time, I've invited Dr. Math to help answer a question the movie left hanging: Could the Soylent Corporation's rather unconventional food supply have saved humanity? And if civilization collapsed anyway, would there be enough of the planet left for the survivors?
