Collaboration may not look the order of the day for architects but in everything done to realise a project, it is the glue that holds it all together.
In this episode, Juergen Benson-Strohmayer talks about how he approaches architecture and how a few of his projects were achieved by collaborating with clients, architects, artists and institutions.
Inclusivity forms part of his and his firm's way of architecture by ensuring it involves the necessary stakeholders; from craftsmen to end users to clients, suppliers and more, shedding more light in how design and architecture can make things better while creating beautiful structures.

085: The Design Department with Victor Owusu-Sekyere and Papa Kofi Dako
How does a design department work? Every architecture firm has a design department. It is the foundation of all firms actually. Buildings are dreamt up within the department, money is made and the firm grows.
Who and what constitutes a design department? What makes the gears turn and keep producing work that needs to be exceptional for construction and for final use?
In this episode Victor and Kofi, introduce "The Design Department", an agency with a dynamic collective of architects, designers, and creative thinkers dedicated to exploring the intersection between design and the human condition.
We also discuss a personal initiative of theirs, that caters to social architecture by providing facilities that can be ready made for those in need of a school, classrooms, libraries, etc.

084: [Contextual Architecture] - Crafting Spaces That Work with Baerbel Mueller
Context is everything in design. The context of a place will look into the relationship between an environment and the buildings situated within it. A location's historical, cultural, physical and economic landscapes is the context in which when applied well, allows design for human use to thrive.
In this episode, Baerbel Mueller walks us through how she works, through research and studying the context of a place which she and her team members and collaborators use to craft spaces that work for the people who would use them.
Baerbel then provides valuable insights into the intersection of research and design and how they are not so much as separate elements when the users of spaces need their needs met.
