I spent two years changing my relationship with social media. The improved version still has flaws.
On a flight, phone in hand, daughter coloring beside me, I let myself scroll again. Two hours gone, and something didn't sit right.

Weight
I did everything right for a year and a half. Weight lifting four times a week, drinking my water, meditating, hitting my protein. And the scale said I was up 15 pounds.
This episode is about what happens when discipline isn’t enough to fix the problem. It’s the one where you’ve done everything the way you were supposed to and it still hasn’t resolved. I’m talking about my relationship with food and my body, from a health coach telling me I was doing everything right, to the first Easter in over a decade I didn’t binge eat, to ten months on GLP-1s and still wanting a Papa John’s cookie pizza.
No tidy ending here. Just the truth of what it looks like to keep trying anyway.

The Sandwich Years
Millennials and Gen X are calling it the Sandwich Years. You are raising your kids and managing your aging parents at the same time. You are the filling. And some days it feels like you are getting crushed from both sides.
In this episode I am talking about what it actually looks like to navigate a parent who is declining, to make hard decisions that cost you something, and to watch yourself change in real time. This one is for every woman who is holding it together from both ends and has never heard anyone say out loud how hard that actually is.

I don’t know how she does it.
If you’ve ever been told “they’re only this young once” as a working mom, this one’s for you. In this episode I’m talking about the unsolicited advice that working moms get that’s meant to be kind but sometimes lands differently and why I’ve stopped explaining myself. Real talk, no filter. Welcome back to Are You There God? It’s Me, Alycia.

Merry Chad Michael Murray
In this episode, I dive into the yuletide cringe-fest that is Merry Gentlemen, Netflix’s latest attempt to mix holiday cheer with rom-com clichés. Starring none other than 00’s dreamboat Chad Michael Murray and the cool rider from Grease 2. This movie has it all: improbable meet-cutes, dialogue cheesier than a fondue fountain, and enough forced holiday spirit to power a small Christmas village.
Join me as I break down the plot and lovingly observe Murray’s transformation from brooding high school heartthrob to sweater-wearing small-town charmer. Is it so bad it’s good? Tune in to find out.
