Who Is That Woman in the Mirror? Gen X, Aging & Our Changing Bodies
Remember Buns of Steel? The ThighMaster? Cindy Crawford’s workout videos? 😂 We were out there doing the workouts, trying to tone everything, and believing we could keep it all together forever! Then one day, we look in the mirror and think… WHO IS THAT WOMAN?! In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carmen get real about being Gen X women navigating the changes that come with aging. We talk about the bodies we remember, the bodies we have now, and the strange disconnect between how we feel inside and the woman staring back at us in the mirror. From changing shapes and sagging skin to unexpected physical challenges, shifting self-image, and the realities nobody really prepared us for, we’re having an honest conversation about what it feels like to grow older in a world that has spent decades telling women how they should look. We laugh, reminisce about the fitness crazes of our younger years, and talk about the harder questions, too. How do we feel about our changing bodies? How much of our self-worth has been tied to our appearance? And how do we learn to embrace this stage of life while still being honest about the parts that are hard? Because apparently, getting older also means occasionally wondering if your mother has somehow taken over your face. 😂 So tell us… have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Who is that old woman?” Come sit with us. Let’s laugh about it, talk about it, and figure it out together. Are You There Yet? Real talk. Honest conversations. Figuring it out together. #GenXWomen #Aging #BodyImage #Midlife #WomenAndAging #BunsOfSteel #ThighMaster #CindyCrawford #AreYouThereYet

The Cornell 7: Part 2 - The Conversation We Need to Have
The Cornell 7 — Part 2: The Conversation We Need to Have ⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses allegations of sexual assault, drug use, consent, and sexual violence. We’re continuing the conversation. In Part 1, Anna began exploring the Cornell 7 case and the difficult questions surrounding consent, accountability, campus culture, and the way society responds to allegations of sexual violence. In Part 2, Carmen shares her perspective as we continue unpacking this complicated and deeply important subject. We talk about the stigma women can face when they speak up, the assumptions people make about someone’s credibility, and the responsibility we all have to think critically about the stories we hear and the judgments we form. Why does a woman’s character so often become the focus of the conversation? How do we talk about consent, responsibility, and accountability while allowing room for facts, due process, and thoughtful discussion? And what can we do to create a culture where people feel safer speaking honestly and seeking support? These questions reach beyond one case. They touch on how we raise our children, how we teach consent, how institutions respond to allegations, and how we treat people whose experiences challenge our assumptions. We believe women deserve to be heard, difficult questions deserve to be asked, and accountability deserves serious attention. Our goal is to encourage conversation, reflection, and a willingness to examine perspectives that may be uncomfortable. Because the conversations we avoid can be the ones we need most. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Share your perspective respectfully, and let us know what you think these conversations need to include. Are You There Yet? Real talk. Honest conversations. Figuring it out together. Please note: This episode discusses publicly reported allegations and ongoing legal proceedings. Allegations are not proof of guilt, and the legal status of the case may change. #AreYouThereYet #TheCornell7 #ConsentMatters #Accountability #WomensVoices #SexualAssaultAwareness #CampusSafety #WomenEmpoweringWomen #DifficultConversations #Podcast

The Cornell 7: Part 1 - The Conversation We Need to Have
The Cornell 7 — Part 1: The Conversation We Need to Have ⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses allegations of sexual assault, drug use, consent, and sexual violence. Some conversations are uncomfortable. Some conversations are necessary. In Part 1 of this two-part discussion, Anna and Carmen take on the case known as the Cornell 7 and the difficult questions it raises about consent, accountability, campus culture, and the way society responds to allegations of sexual violence. We talk about the questions that deserve serious attention, the stigma that can surround women who speak about their experiences, and the judgments people make before they know the full story. Why are women so often questioned, scrutinized, and blamed when they speak up? What does consent mean when alcohol or drugs are involved? Where does personal responsibility begin, and what role do friends, institutions, and the systems around us play? These conversations require us to listen, think critically, challenge our assumptions, and recognize the human impact behind the headlines. Women deserve to be heard. Difficult questions deserve thoughtful discussion. Accountability matters. This is Part 1 of our conversation. In Part 2, Carmen shares her perspective as we continue unpacking the issues surrounding this case. We invite you to listen with an open mind, reflect on your own perspective, and join the conversation respectfully.

Birth Order: Are the Stereotypes Real?
Birth Order: Does Where You Fall in the Family Shape Who You Become? Were you the responsible firstborn, the independent middle child, the free-spirited youngest, or the one who grew up somewhere in between? In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carmen talk about birth order and the roles we often fall into within our families. Does being the oldest, middle, youngest, or an only child actually shape our personalities and relationships? Or do we give those labels more power than they deserve? We talk about family expectations, responsibility, competition, attention, sibling dynamics, and the ways those early roles can follow us well into adulthood. Because sometimes the role you played in your family becomes the role everyone still expects you to play. Are You There Yet? is a conversation about life, relationships, getting older, figuring ourselves out, and all the things nobody gave us an instruction manual for. 🎙️ Hosted by Anna & Carmen #AreYouThereYet #BirthOrder #FamilyDynamics #Relationships #GrowingUp #Midlife #SelfAwareness

Are We the Worst? A Gen X Reality Check
Are We the Worst? Gen X Reality Check Were we really the toughest generation—or did we just get really good at pretending everything was fine? Gen X grew up with latchkey childhoods, “go outside and play,” being home before the streetlights came on, and parents who basically said, “You’ll figure it out.” We learned independence, sarcasm, resilience, and how to entertain ourselves without a phone in our hands. But what did all of that actually teach us? In this episode of Are You There Yet?, we take a funny but honest look at Gen X culture, the things we were taught, the things we weren’t taught, and the ways those lessons might still show up in our relationships, emotions, parenting, and lives today. Were we actually independent… or just emotionally unsupervised? Come hang out with us as we ask the question: Are we the worst Gen X—or were we just raised differently? Real talk. Honest conversations. Figuring it out together. #AreYouThereYet #GenX #GenXWomen #GenXLife #GenXHumor #Midlife #MidlifeWomen #LifeAfter50 #RealTalk

What I Wish I Knew at 20- Advice From My 50s To My Younger Self
🎙️ What I Wish I Knew in My 20s If we could sit down with the women we were in our 20s, what would we tell them? A LOT. In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carmen look back at the choices, mistakes, relationships, insecurities, and lessons that shaped them—and talk about all the things they wish someone had told them back then. Would we tell ourselves to stop worrying so much about what other people think? To trust our instincts? To leave certain situations sooner? To stop trying to have everything figured out? To enjoy our lives instead of constantly worrying about what’s coming next? Probably all of the above. This isn’t about wishing we could change the past. It’s about looking back with the perspective we have now and realizing that sometimes the things we thought were failures were actually teaching us exactly what we needed to know. And maybe the best part of getting older is realizing that we’re still learning. So grab a cup of coffee and come sit with us while we talk about the things we wish our 20-something selves could have heard. What do you wish YOU had known in your 20s? 🎙️ Are You There Yet?Real talk. Honest conversations. Figuring it out together. ❤️

Why Did Nobody Tell Us About Menopause?
Why Did Nobody Tell Us About Menopause? We learned how to get our periods. We learned how not to get pregnant. We heard plenty about puberty. But somehow… nobody really explained menopause. In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carman have the conversation so many women wish they’d had years earlier. What actually happens to our bodies during perimenopause and menopause? Why can it affect sleep, mood, energy, memory, libido, body changes, and so much more? And why did so many of us enter this stage of life with almost no idea what to expect? We talk about our own experiences, the things that surprised us, what our mothers’ generation was—and wasn’t—told, and why menopause has been surrounded by so much silence, embarrassment, and misinformation. And because this is Are You There Yet?, we’re not taking ourselves too seriously. There are plenty of laughs, plenty of “WAIT… THAT’S MENOPAUSE?!” moments, and some honest conversations about what it’s like when your body seems to suddenly have its own agenda. In this episode: What actually happens during perimenopause and menopause The symptoms nobody warned us about Why menopause can affect so much more than your period The connection between hormones, sleep, mood, memory, and energy Body changes and the frustration that can come with them Sex, intimacy, and libido What our mothers’ generation was taught about menopause Why women historically haven’t talked openly about it How the conversation around menopause is finally changing What we wish we’d known 10 or 20 years earlier Most importantly, we talk about why women shouldn’t have to simply “tough it out” or assume they’re imagining what they’re experiencing. Because maybe the biggest problem isn’t menopause itself. Maybe it’s that nobody prepared us for it. So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join the conversation. Are You There Yet?Real talk. Honest conversations. Figuring it out together. 💬 What do you wish someone had told you about menopause? Tell us in the comments. Let’s Talk About What Gets Under Our Skin
The little things that make us irrationally annoyed. The people who somehow know exactly how to push our buttons. The habits that make us think, “Seriously?! Why do you DO that?” In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carman let it all out as they talk about the things that get under their skin—from everyday pet peeves and annoying habits to the bigger things that genuinely make them angry. And because we can’t just leave it at the petty stuff, we dig a little deeper. Why does lack of self-awareness bother us so much? Why do hypocrisy, entitlement, rudeness, and a complete inability to take responsibility get such a strong reaction? And what can our own pet peeves actually teach us about ourselves? Because sometimes the things that annoy us the most aren’t just about them. They might tell us something about us, too.

The Sandwich Generation: Who Takes Care of Us?
What happens when you’re still helping your kids while also caring for aging parents? Welcome to the sandwich generation—the generation caught in the middle, trying to support everyone while wondering, “Okay… but who’s taking care of us?” In this episode of Are You There Yet?, Anna and Carmen talk about what it’s like to feel pulled in multiple directions by family, work, finances, caregiving, and the expectations that come with being the person everyone turns to. We talk about the guilt that comes with saying no, the challenge of setting boundaries with people we love, the financial and emotional weight of caregiving, and why so many of us feel like we’re constantly taking care of everyone except ourselves. We also look at how this experience compares with previous generations. Did our parents face the same pressures? Or has something fundamentally changed about family, work, aging, and adulthood? Because sometimes being the strong one gets exhausting. So grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and join the conversation. Are You There Yet?Real talk. Honest conversations. It feels like everyone is on edge. Conversations turn into arguments, social media fuels outrage, and even small disagreements can quickly become personal. So what’s really going on? In this episode of Are You There Yet?, we explore why people seem more reactive than ever. We discuss the impact of chronic stress, information overload, political division, fear, and the ways our nervous systems respond when we’re overwhelmed. This isn’t about blaming one side or another—it’s about understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and finding healthier ways to respond. Join us as we ask: Why does everything feel so emotionally charged? Are we reacting… or responding? How do we protect our peace without disconnecting from the world?
