<p>Sarai was the wife of Abraham, previously known as Abram (Genesis 11:29), who is a patriarchal father known for his faith in God. The meaning of the name Sarai is “princess of a king,” perhaps given to her because of her beauty (Genesis 12:11). However, when a name is mentioned in the Bible, it often signifies more about a person’s character or destiny as intended by God. <p>2 Samuel 12:24-25, Kemudian Daud menghibur hati Batsyeba, isterinya; ia menghampiri perempuan itu dan tidur dengan dia, dan perempuan itu melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki, lalu Daud memberi nama Salomo kepada anak itu. TUHAN mengasihi anak ini dan dengan perantaraan nabi Natan Ia menyuruh menamakan anak itu Yedija, oleh karena TUHAN.</p> <p>Ada yang mengatakan jika Daud mau sedikit lebih bersabar saja, Tuhan akhirnya akan memberikan Batsyeba menjadi istrinya juga. Pendapat ini keluar setelah ayat diatas menunjukkan bagaimana kemudian anak ke-2 mereka, dikasihi dan dipilih Tuhan menjadi pengganti Raja Daud. Mereka berpikir bahwa tidaklah mungkin Tuhan akan memilih seseorang dengan latarbelakang jelek dan penuh dosa seperti kedua orang tua Salomo, terutama ibunya, Batsyeba, untuk mengemban tugas besar dan mulia dikemudian hari.
