What does it mean to be called? Sometimes the church takes its cues from the world, but we look into what one Bible story teaches us. It is so incredibly important for artists to know what this means…as well as what it doesn't. Because you are needed in the church, especially in church planting, and God has given you gifts for exactly that.
One of the best ways to learn more about your own unique calling, as well as a context to work it out as an artist is through our in person artist cohorts. The teaching for this episode comes from these cohorts, and it's a place to connect your gifts and your calling with God's mission. The Resistance
The Resistance is anything that holds you back from what you were made to create. It's sin: this broken world, our broken selves, and the dark spiritual powers that are all in conflict with God's good plan. A big part of the Resistance is procrastination. Filled with the Spirit
What does "being filled with the Spirit" even mean? The first person to be filled with the Spirit was an artist. It's important to know what it means to be filled by the Holy Spirit and also important to know what it doesn't mean. This is God Himself, empowering us to join Him in His mission…all in the things we make.
