Signs of Land: When You're Almost There, But Not Quite

Because you’ve spent a whole lifetime of seeing and experiencing things you don’t like, you’ve been vibrationally asking for the opposite. So, if you’ve been doing the work of letting go of trapped emotions, questioning your beliefs, and getting yourself out of a victim mentality, sooner or later you’re going to let some of those awesome things manifest into your life.

You only have to release your resistance to them- you know your thoughts like, “That could never happen because of…” But, of course, that’s not an easy thing to do. As I’ve written before, simply understanding the law of attraction doesn’t make your life magically easy. Letting go of resistance is difficult.

But you know that, and so you do the work, right? Then something awesome comes into your life, and whether or not you see it as such is up to you. But I wanted to write this to let you know about what I call “Signs of Land”, so that you will notice it when it happens to you.

Signs of Land

Imagine being shipwrecked, and floating on something in the middle of an ocean so that you cannot see land any way you look. Whether you’re by yourself or not is up to your imagination. In this example, the grand desire is for land (and all that land represents to you like drinkable water, food, etc.). You can paddle yourself in a direction, and maybe you know the direction to choose, and maybe you don’t, but your higher self or God guides you. But you doubt. You have no idea if you’re going to find land before you die.

That can be what it’s like to have a limiting belief. Maybe you’re a single mother struggling with raising a child alone, and don’t know how you’re going to make enough money to do it. Maybe you’re struggling as an artist and don’t know if anyone is ever going to buy your work. Maybe you’re working in an industry that sees you as a number, rather than appreciating you as a person, so you never feel valued. These all may wonder if it’s ever really going to happen for them, or if they will be in this position for the rest of their lives, or, even, if things will get worse when the other shoe drops.

But, then you hear a bird call, and look up and wonder if you imagined it. Then you see the bird in the distance. You may dismiss it and go back to wallowing, because it’s not what you so desperately want. But then it dawns on you. If there’s a bird, it means you’re close to land. That bird had to come from somewhere. You know you’ve been going the correct way now. You know which direction to go for better accuracy. You know that sooner or later you will reach land. So now you’re a lot more optimistic.

Or are you? Some people, when they get this sign slip into worry mode. They may worry that they don’t have the energy to keep going, or they now see their situation as more desperate, and may think losing your paddle at this stage is worse than losing it when you couldn’t see land at all, because it’s just going to be more devastating when you had a chance.

But they’ll keep going. I mention this because those worries can sometimes cause delays. It’s much better to deal with the fear head on while you’re still more optimistic, than to push the fear away (through avoidance tactics) and then end up with the very devastation you feared. In this example, you’re far more likely to drop the paddle when you fear dropping the paddle than when you face your fear and make better decisions based on it.

It’s a Sign For a Reason

I used the phrase “Signs of Land” for a reason. It does not mean you have actually manifested the big thing you are in the process of manifesting, but it’s a sign you are closer than you thought.

Imagine if you have a niche interest and want to make money doing something in that “field” but there don’t seem to be any ways to make money doing anything related to that niche field. The root problem is that you don’t believe that people value this thing that you can bring into the world. If they value it enough, they will pay for it. And then one day you meet someone who gets paid money to do something similar. This could now be considered a competitor of yours. You could get angry.

But, what this is doing is allowing you to see that it is possible for someone to be paid for a similar niche job. The smarter reaction would be to ask questions to learn more about how this person did it. It would be wise to see this is a learning opportunity, and use it to break apart your limiting belief that making money this way is “impossible.” The next step would be working on why you don’t believe you, in particular, are not valued or couldn’t be valued.

People who wish to be married or have children can see others doing just that and get very upset. This is showing them that they have a limiting belief, and it would be good to look into that deeper. I wrote about that more in my article, Feeling Joy For Others Helps You: Envy & Jealousy Help You To Know What You Desire & How To Get It.

You can think of these examples as learning and growing opportunities and receive much more from them, than if you think of them as the universe or an evil God mocking you.

We’re all manifesting based on our beliefs which cause resistance. The feeling you’re being mocked comes from not believing it’s possible that this thing could happen for you in particular. The example is showing you how much resistance you have to getting what you want. The more negative the reaction, the larger the resistance. Knowledge is power. When you learn more about yourself, you can see why you had such an emotional reaction. Understanding that may not make it disappear completely, but can help lessen the blow because it won’t shock you any longer.

Looking Forward

So, as I’ve said when you feel negatively about seeing Signs of Land, it’s teaching you about your limiting beliefs, so it’s a good learning experience. But, if you feel positively about it, then milk those feelings. Don’t just think of it as a random happenstance. See it as Signs of Land.

The 1st Thing May Not Be THE Thing

Perhaps you thought you would never find a job that really suits you. You may have had horrible jobs your whole life, and then end up in a job that seems to suit you extremely well. But there’s a problem, you’re surrounded by morons or sneaky devils. The job may be great, but you have a problem with the environment.

That’s another form of resistance to work through. And if you work through that resistance, you can manifest a better job. So, sometimes you land on something, a job, new city, new lover, etc. but they are not 100% what you want. It’s a process. It just shows you that you have more resistance to work through, but it’s still a sign that things are improving. You can and should still milk the positives and be optimistic about the future.

The trap is that people either get initially jealous or envious, or jump into something new cautiously optimistic and then think, “This is it?” The reason for that is because they don’t know about the law of attraction (and how you’re constantly attracting better situations vibrationally as you line up with them) and they view their limiting beliefs as if they’re facts. You can and should question your beliefs. But far too many people think they’re just the way the world is.

Visualize

If you feel positive about what’s happened, and understand what part you have to play in releasing resistance, this would be the time to visualize manifesting more of what you want. You now know your work is paying off. You can notice things that may not be 100% of what you want, and visualize yourself getting what you actually want. I have previously written about why you should be feeling optimistic when you visualize. So, don’t do this if you think it’s impossible.

Celebrate!

These Signs of Land are worth celebrating (milking) even if they’re not the actual big desire. The joy is in the journey. You did it. You manifested breaking the limiting belief that told you this thing was impossible. Now there is more work to do, but you should remember if you can break one limiting belief, then you can break others. You should be very proud to manifest proving your limiting beliefs are not facts and that you’re capable of improving your life through this process.

This is a free post so feel free to share it (you can earn great rewards for referring people to this Substack now!). I may come at this from a sort of Christian background, but I’ll explain what I mean, and I’m not out to convert people. I imagine everyone reading this article is on the narrow road of self-improvement in these ways already anyway. But, I’ll explain what I mean and maybe it will be helpful.

So many people who hear about the law of attraction think that if they have emotions of fear, that means that they will attract something awful, something they fear. You may even have seen people joke that they “fear” having lots of money. This is a common misconception of what the law of attraction is. I’ve written about how the law of attraction is misunderstood (even by some who say they believe it).

When you are afraid you may attract situations that bring up that fear, but if you go with the flow, and are not resistant, the end result won’t be bad. You are likely catastrophizing which means the fear you’re currently experiencing is actually the worst it will get.

It’s the resistance that hurts us. A leaf may float in the breeze or ride a current on a river. It’s unresistant and can have a pleasant trip. But if you are like a rock (or get stuck up against a rock) in a river and the day gets windy, you will have large waves pressing against you. It will be a completely different experience. If you’re a Christian, the wind in that example is the Holy Spirit.

John 3:8 The wind/breath/spirit blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the wind/breath/spirit.”

The word for sound is also noise, and it makes me think of the word “vibration.” The word for spirit is the same word used for wind and breath. We feel the wind currents and can go with the flow or resist it.

But, for the non-Christians, you can view it as the universe or your subconscious knowing what’s best for you. And, it is best for you to face the limiting beliefs you hold. And, it is best for you to get rid of the negative feelings that have been stored in your body (put there by past resistance). I call it emotional vomit, because those things are toxic, and the body has a natural desire to get rid of toxic waste you don’t need.

Your subconscious mind knows that and keeps bringing you into situations that can trigger those emotions so that you can “vomit” them out. When you’re feeling sick to your stomach and feel the need to vomit, you hate that feeling. But you inevitably feel better when you get it out of your system. “Better out than in,” as Shrek would say.

Don't Blame the Algorithm - You Control What You See

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit lawofattraction.substack.com

Last week I wrote on Substack a lot more than I usually do. But I realized I needed to take a break from Substack. I still visited Notes and posted a couple of things. But I was getting frustrated by the stuff I saw. It all felt “so negative.” I can usually look at the 3D “negative” stuff going on in light of a higher perspective and not be as troubled by it as I was.

Because I am normally able to do this, and because of the law of attraction, I knew that it wasn’t the algorithm’s fault, something was going on inside of me to cause this. Things can be going horribly wrong but I can see great works of writing concerning those things that, even though it’s recounting awful events, it’s the creativity and care that I notice and “vibe with.”

But I was noticing people being dismissive of others who were different than they were, and a lot of “complaining.” I would guess I see people complain on Substack all of the time, but usually, I would be focused on how well they were doing it, making a logical argument and emotionally moving others.

Instead, I felt like people were just complaining and being angry together. And, I am sure that other people who saw the exact same posts I did, did not notice anything different or were actually being emotionally uplifted by what they saw.

When you notice things that rub you the wrong way, do you continually come back for more? Do you block or mute the people? They don’t have the “right” to be heard. You have the ability to curate your social media feeds. This is one place you have the power. By not removing things that aggravate you, the power, responsibility, or blame is on you, not the algorithm.

Should you block people?

I wrote that article about blocking and/or muting people who are trying to overstep your boundaries. I think it’s absolutely right to do that. But, sometimes you’ll see people in your feed that you disagree with, some who even mock something that you love. But those people may bring in good, beneficial, uplifting posts at other times. This is where I struggle.

If I blocked everyone who mocked something I believed in, eventually I might not have anyone on my social media feed. Perhaps that’s just a limiting belief. For now, I figure I will let them stay in the feed, and work on myself, such as limiting my time on the platform.

Your Mood Attracts

Samskaras are old emotional wounds that have not been let go yet. As you hold on to them by resisting feeling them, they continually attract more situations to bring them up to the surface. Your triggers can be so very healing if you let them be.
