About Ashes of Ages Vampire the Masquerade Chronicle

In 1433 Prague, our coterie of vampires receives a summons to an ominous meeting at Millie’s Tavern. The city’s Seneschal reveals the shocking death of Elder Radimier Pavlovich, a Tzimisce with potent connections, sparking fears of political upheaval reminiscent of a past rebellion. Tasked with uncovering the truth or avenging the elder’s murder, the group delves into the dark streets of Prague and confronts supernatural dangers lurking in shadows. Their investigation leads them through hushed districts and eerie quarters, from a vacant haven marked by mysterious occult symbols to relics dripping with ancient blood and power. As they peel back layers of secrets, they encounter remnants of powerful blood rituals, a missing tome of dark magic, and a statue with ties to an earlier purge. Between gathering insights from forbidden scrolls and consulting arcane sigils, they find traces of an elusive courier, figures linked to the elder’s death, and whispers of an uprising among Hussite rebels. Mystic visions, otherworldly portals, and clues etched in esoteric languages all lead the party deeper into a tangled web of political rivalries, ancient blood feuds, and a sinister conspiracy. The investigation promises not only a fight for survival but a path that risks exposing them to their own darkest desires and fears. Chapter 1 - Part 14

As night falls, Greg halts the magical boat and departs with a summoned group of horses, leaving the coterie to manually transport the vessel. Upon reaching a creek, Istvan hears a mysterious voice, prompting the group to pause. Theodosia senses an ancient, unfamiliar magic permeating the area. A woman named Deverra appears beside Istvan, speaking in broken Latin. Through a series of linguistic exchanges—Polish, Lithuanian, and magically altered speech—she conveys that the land possesses its own consciousness and autonomy. Deverra introduces herself as part of a coven that binds themselves to the land through ancient rituals, aiming to become one with it. The group follows Deverra to a grove where four hanged men serve as conduits for magical energy. Deverra offers a ritual involving the blood of these men. Zemislav, Katherine, and Eliska partake in the ritual, each experiencing profound visions. The coven explains their philosophy of unity with the land, contrasting it with the Tzimisce's approach of domination and control. Istvan presents his sword, seeking guidance on its uncooperative nature. Deverra suggests that feeding the sword a blood point daily from another coterie member may appease its spirit. Theodosia inquires about removing the Vicissitude from her blood; Deverra mentions a cult to the northwest that might assist in purging it. Deverra also reveals the presence of a Tzimisce in Vilnius who, despite his ancient blood, lacks the ability to commune with the land's spirit. This information hints at potential future encounters and challenges as the coterie delves deeper into the mystical and political complexities of the region. This session enriches the narrative by introducing elements of ancient pagan magic, spiritual symbiosis with the land, and the ideological conflicts between different vampire philosophies, setting the stage for deeper exploration and potential confrontations in the chronicles ahead. With the elder Elysium under siege, the group chooses to flee with their new allies, heading toward Lithuania aboard a Viking vessel. But peace is short-lived. An ambush by Crusaders erupts in violence, and amid the masquerade-breaking battle, a new figure emerges—Greg, a wandering Tremere with a haunted aura and secrets buried in his blood. As the coterie sails not on water, but over land by magic, they unravel more about Greg's strange past, his connection to the Salubri, and his dangerous knowledge of the Setite bloodline—mockingly dubbed the "Cult of the Anteater." Chapter 1 - Game 10

Istvan returned home to find his shoes stolen and his sword replaced with an identical but unfamiliar one. Meanwhile, Katherine sought out a captive to feed on and had a tense conversation with her ghoul, Rudolph, who confessed to entangling her in a dangerous conflict. She agreed to secure him a horse for his escape. Jardani encountered Wilhelm Stretcher in the Night Market, engaging in a deep—if unusual—conversation about pears and loyalty, with Stretcher questioning if Jardani was merely a pawn of the court. Elsewhere, Istvan met Theodosia, again offering to accompany her to investigate the butcher shop, but she remained hesitant to act without the group’s support. The party gathered to strategize their approach for removing Count Orlach, who held control over the city’s noble houses and the mortal court. They determined that pressuring the nobility could be key to his downfall. Their plan led them to a gambling den, where Dalibor and Istvan descended to confront Orlach. To clear the area, Theodosia dramatically revealed herself by peeling off her own face, sending bystanders fleeing in terror. As combat erupted below, Katherine rushed to suppress an explosion. In the chaos, the Salubri struck the killing blow, reducing Orlach to ash as he attempted to escape with Celerity. Zemislav doused a Tzimisce in oil, and Dalibor set it ablaze. Meanwhile, Theodosia, seemingly possessed, tried to shield the burning creature, but Zemislav restrained her with his tentacles as her face grotesquely flapped around. As the dust settled, Katherine sensed someone psychically projecting into their space, observing them from afar. Realizing the gravity of slaying an Elder, the group quickly decided to flee. Before leaving, a stranger approached Katherine, urging her not to destroy valuable knowledge. Instead, he suggested staking her sire to preserve him as a source of information. Chapter 1 - Game 9

Istvan follows the trail of Sabina, uncovering that the Tremere have taken her. His search leads him to a magistrate-seized house, where he encounters Borislav, and they exchange crucial information. Meanwhile, Katherine dives deep into investigating Gargonal. The group gathers in the Night Market, where Theodosia and Istvan learn of an alchemist engaged in heretical experiments. Katherine and Theodosia take matters into their own hands, sneaking off to track a captive. In a daring move, Katherine disguises herself as an officer to infiltrate the guards and extract their target. As tensions rise, suspicions grow—Katherine questions how her ally was singled out, and Theodosia speculates about hidden threats among their contacts. Plans shift when Istvan suggests targeting Count Orlach instead of Gargonal, and the group debates seeking help from the Salubri. Reluctantly, they make their way to an ancient cave, where they encounter three Salubri warriors who agree to aid them, albeit only due to Dalibor’s presence. The episode takes a chilling turn when Elska senses something eerie within the cave’s chasm. Theodosia and Zemislav investigate, only to find themselves in the dreaded first level of the Labyrinth. Theodosia is shaken to her core, losing two points of her path. As they escape the cave, an unsettling discovery awaits them—footprints in the sand, proof that someone has been watching them. Who is following them, and what secrets lie deeper in the Labyrinth? This is a public episode.
