Supported by 2023/24 Public Engagement Funds from Edinburgh Napier University, Asian!MacAsian! podcast has been created to directly address the issue of Scottish Asian’s under-representation in public media outlets. We launched this podcast programme in the hope that it would become a window for the Scottish public to get to know more about its Asian population. In order to achieve this goal, Asian!MacAsian! podcast will bring together Scottish Asian communities and individuals, researchers, practitioners, politicians, and government officials, to present the most authentic narratives and interactions concerning social affairs relevant to its Asian population in various forms, including storytelling, interview, debate and discussion. To do so, Asian!MacAsian! aims to promote the Scottish public's culturally-focused understanding of its Asian population, while also enhancing the Asian community's sense of belonging and unity in Scotland. Ultimately, the podcast programme sets out to promote cross-cultural dialogue and social inclusion across different ethnoracial groups within the wider Scottish society, and further combat racism to achieve better racial and ethnic justice in Scotland.

The first season of the podcast focuses on “AsianStorytelling”, wherein different generations of Asians from a range of geographic and cultural origins will share with you the stories about their culture, family dynamics and migration journey settling in Scotland.

Do you have any interesting stuff about the Asians living in Scotland that you want to share with us?
