Balans, keuzes en puppies
In deze aflevering praten we met Rogier Bisschop, één van de creative directors bij Total Design. Toen we Rogier vroegen of hij met ons wilde praten over ethiek twijfelde hij. 'Wij doen toch niet zo veel met ethiek?' Dat vonden wij meteen interessant. Want Rogier werkt in de Commerciële Wereld! (huuh) TD heeft geen regels voor ethiek, maar toch is het werk wel goed. Huh, hoe dan? Voorkomt een gemengd klantenbestand een smalle tunnelvisie? (Spoiler: ja) En hoe persoonlijk mag je het als creatief bij TD maken? En zegt dat iets over je professionaliteit? En wat is 'designprecisie en directheid, transparantie en helderheid, logica en vanzelfsprekendheid'? (Spoiler: dat weten we nog steeds niet) Verder is Astrid in de war door Extinction Rebellion en zegt Vasilis allemaal erge dingen over puppies. Luisteren!

Abba, Bob Ross en de bedoeling
We spraken met Alex Corrá. Alex is verliefd op de verzorgingsstaat. Alex werkt op de afdeling Strategie, Recht en Communicatie van de Sociale Verzekeringsbank. Hij is expert op het gebied van Privacy & Data Ethics en algemene ethiek. En hij weet veel van het bevorderen van meer maatwerk georiënteerd werken vanuit het gedachtegoed van de bedoeling. Ambtenaren zoeken naar de balans tussen het leveren van goed maatwerk voor de burger (werken vanuit de bedoeling) en het voorkomen van willekeur (de rechtsstaat). Hoe denkt Alex daar met zijn collega’s over na? Waarom is de publieke sector zoveel gecompliceerder is dan de private sector? Hoe bedenk je systemen om de wereld beter te maken, terwijl je de dagelijkse realiteit niet uit het oog verliest? En hoe komen we van Painting by numbers naar een Bob Ross-achtige aanpak? (En waarom is dat belangrijk?) Welke rol speelt ethiek in het leven van juristen en waarom is het juist voor juristen zo moeilijk om vanuit ethiek te denken? En wat heef Abba er mee te maken? Het was een woest en snel gesprek!

We hebben de schurk nog niet gevonden
Maike Klip werkt bij DUO als digitaal strateeg en onderzoeker. Ze werkte mee aan de CoronaMelder app en deed onderzoek naar de rol van begrip bij de overheid. Ze deed een master design research aan de Willem De Kooning Academie en studeerde af met een 10. Ze heeft dus wel wat te vertellen!
