Katta Spiel forscht an der Technischen Universität Wien an der Schnittstelle von Informatik, kritischem Design und Kulturwissenschaften zur Frage, was passiert, wenn Menschen und Technologien zusammenkommen. Wir sprechen mit Katta darüber, warum nin sich letztlich gegen Politik und für die Forschung entschieden hat, wie man als nicht-binäre und neurodivergente Person im Arbeitsfeld Wissenschaft navigiert, was autoethnografische Forschung ist und wieso kritische und marginalisierte Perspektiven auf Wissensformen so wichtig sind. Außerdem entdecken wir in Kattas Büro Legomodelle und leitendes Garn.

Stephan Pühringer arbeitet als Sozioökonom an der Johannes-Kepler-Universität Linz und setzt sich im Netzwerk Unterbau Wissenschaft NUWiss für bessere Arbeitsbedingungen von Wissenschafter*innen ein. Wir sprechen mit ihm darüber, inwieweit die prekären Verhältnisse in der Wissenschaft ein gesamtgesellschaftliches Problem darstellen, wie ökonomisch ineffizient Drittmittelvergabeverfahren in der Wissenschaft gestaltet sind und wie die eigenen Kinder es erleichtern, sich der in der Wissenschaft so weit verbreiteten Selbstausbeutung zu entziehen.

Martin Huth ist Philosoph und arbeitet an der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität Wien. Wie seine Forschungen dort hinpassen, ob Philosophie eigentlich eine Wissenschaft ist und was man unter Phänomenologie und Vulnerabilität versteht, das musste er uns erst einmal erklären. Dann geht es in der Folge um den Weg als Arbeiterkind an die Uni, um die Freude am Gespräch als Form wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens und um eine Frage, die sich die meisten von uns schon einmal gestellt haben: Liegt es eigentlich an mir, wenn gerade gar nichts klappt? Ganz nebenbei erfahrt ihr noch etwas über Kants lange Publikationslücke und Rossinis frühes Karriereende.
