Spectators love watching sidecars race, this is demonstrated by the crowds that flock to the fence as the outfits head out to the grid.
The people who are associated with sidecar racing love it just as much. It truly is a labour of love for anyone involved with any class of sidecar racing that we love to share if given even half a chance.
Our guests are from all eras and disciplines of sidecar racing in Australia.
From one lunatic to another, we welcome you to jump on and have a listen as we share and preserve some amazing Aussie Sidecar Stories.
For this episode we start in the UK in the 1970’s when JohnWillmore first watched sidecars race on iconic tracks, and then he joined them out there for sometimes 30 plus racing events a year.
When John and his family moved to Australia, as fate wouldhave it the call of the track was not far away, as they moved within earshot of Lakeside in Queensland. He found himself racing once more until he and his wife hit the road and ended up settling in Tasmania.
There wasn’t any sidecars racing in Tassie when he arrived, but after making a few connections John has been a passionate advocate and big supporter of getting them back out on road and speedway tracks.
