[…] Basically, AI making existing risks in society worse. You know, you can think about that as the sort of, you know, the cybersecurity risks we're confronting, for example. And then separately, AI creating entirely new problems that are inherent to the technology. So those are the kind of alignment problems that we're talking about here. And probably it's going to be a bit of a different policy response to that because that first category of risks, we have existing laws and institutions and frameworks that can be adapted and maybe they have to be adapted rapidly and at a significant scale to the challenges posed by AI, but there's something already there. the alignment risks are something new and big and global and probably require a different approach.
