Went to a Psychic, Remembered My Inner Power
Sometimes I forget that the universe has my back. I'm a therapist, and I went to a psychic, and what I walked away with was a reminder: I'm not doing this alone, and my power was never outside of me. In this episode, I'm sharing what that experience stirred up, why trusting is so hard when you're used to holding it all together, and what it looks like when you stop forcing everything and let things fall into place. 📩 Join my newsletter for exclusive insights, podcast updates, and free downloads designed to support your healing journey. https://www.authenticallyronda.com 📱 Follow me on Instagram @authenticallyronda for behind-the-scenes moments, encouragement, and daily reminders that you don't have to carry it all alone. Finding Joy, Purpose, and Your Voice | With Hammond
In this episode, I'm sitting down with Hammond for an honest and heartfelt conversation about his journey with mental health, navigating fears of not being accepted or approved of, and how he's learned to find joy and purpose along the way. We talk about the role music has played in his life, the importance of discovering what brings you happiness, and how he's turned his passion for creativity into something bigger than himself. Today, Hammond helps others find their voices by bringing their podcast ideas and stories to life. What I love about this conversation is the reminder that we all want to feel seen, heard, and valued. And sometimes, finding our place in the world starts with embracing the very things that make us who we are. Because healing isn't always about changing who you are. Sometimes it's about discovering what makes you feel alive and giving yourself permission to pursue it. EMDR: More Than Moving Your Eyes
Have you ever talked about something painful from your past, understood exactly why it affected you, and STILL found yourself reacting to it like it just happened yesterday? That's because understanding your trauma and actually processing it are two different things. In this episode of Authentically You, we're diving into EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)—a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they don't continue to hold the same emotional weight. We'll break down what EMDR actually is, how it works, why it can feel different from traditional talk therapy, and how it can help when you feel like you've done all the work but still find yourself stuck in the same emotional patterns. We'll also explore the connection between your brain, body, and nervous system, and why knowing you're safe doesn't always mean you feel safe. Because healing isn't just about understanding what happened to you. It's about changing how those experiences continue to affect you today. People Pleasing Isn't Kindness - It's Survival
We call it being "easy to get along with." "Low-maintenance." "So thoughtful." People-pleasing gets praised constantly — which is exactly why it's so hard to recognize as a problem. But for a lot of people, it's not generosity. It's fawning: a nervous system response built to avoid conflict, rejection, or disappointing someone, often learned early and carried straight into adulthood without ever being questioned. In this episode, Ronda traces people-pleasing back to its roots as a survival strategy, not a personality trait — why it so often develops in the oldest kid, the caretaker, the one who learned that keeping the peace was safer than having needs. She breaks down the difference between genuine kindness and fear-based agreeableness, why boundary-setting feels so physically uncomfortable for recovering people-pleasers, and what it actually looks like to start saying no without the guilt spiral that usually follows. If you've ever said yes and immediately regretted it, this episode is for you. Your Inner Child Isn't a Trend
If you've spent any time on social media lately, you've seen it: someone holding up a childhood photo, writing a letter to their younger self, talking about "reparenting." Inner child work has become one of the most viral concepts in mental health content, and like anything that spreads that fast, most of what's circulating barely resembles where it actually came from. In this episode, Ronda takes the concept seriously, tracing it back through Carl Jung's original work and Richard Schwartz's Internal Family Systems model and breaks down what people consistently get wrong: that it's not clinical, that it's just journaling prompts, that it means regressing instead of healing, and that it's only for people with major trauma. She also connects it to the "strong one" pattern this show comes back to again and again, the adult behaviors that don't make sense until you trace them back to where they were first learned. Whether you're new to this concept or you've already tried the trend version, this episode will give you the real one... the one that actually helps. 📩 Join my newsletter for exclusive insights, podcast updates, and free downloads designed to support your healing journey. https://www.authenticallyronda.com. 📱 Follow me on Instagram @authenticallyronda for behind-the-scenes moments, encouragement, and daily reminders that you don't have to carry it all alone. From Surviving to Healing: My Work With the Strong Ones
We talk a lot about "the strong one" — the one who holds it together, takes care of everyone else, and never asks for help. But what does that actually cost? And why did I build my entire practice around helping people heal from it? In this episode, I'm sharing more of the why behind my work — what I actually do with clients who've spent their lives being strong, why trauma and fawning show up as "having it all together," and what real healing looks like when survival isn't required anymore. If you've ever felt like you have to hold it together for everyone else, this one's for you. Finding Your Frequency After Loss - Sarah Irvine
What happens when grief changes everything—and the path forward looks nothing like the life you had before? In this episode of Authentically You, I sit down with a sound healing practitioner, Sarah Irvine to talk about her personal journey through grief, loss, and the experiences that ultimately led her to the healing work she does today. We talk honestly about what it means to move through loss, how grief can reshape our identity, and the unexpected ways we sometimes find ourselves again after life breaks us open. She also shares how sound healing became part of her own journey and eventually something she felt called to offer others. Grief Has No Manners
Grief doesn't always look like sadness. Sometimes it looks like anger. Numbness. Guilt. Relief. Confusion. Even laughter—and then feeling guilty for laughing. In this episode, we're getting honest about grief and the emotions that can show up when we lose someone we love. I'm sharing pieces of my own grief journey, including the feelings I didn't expect, the ones I didn't recognize at first, and what I've learned about actually allowing myself to process them instead of being ashamed of them. We'll talk about what the grief process really looks like, why there is no "right" way to grieve, and how healing doesn't mean forgetting, moving on, or no longer missing them. Grief is complicated. It's messy. And sometimes the most healing thing we can do is stop judging ourselves for how it shows up and simply allow ourselves to feel it. You don't have to grieve the way everyone else thinks you should. You just have to be honest about what your heart is carrying. 📩 Join my newsletter for exclusive insights, podcast updates, and free downloads designed to support your healing journey. https://www.healingfeatherstherapy.com/authenticallyronda 📱 Follow me on Instagram @authenticallyronda for behind-the-scenes moments, encouragement, and daily reminders that you don't have to carry it all alone. My Story of Grief and Acceptance
Grief has been woven into my story since the day I was born. My birth story isn't just the story of how I came into this world. It's also the story of a loss that happened the very same day—the death of my uncle, someone I would never get the chance to know in the traditional sense, but who would become an incredibly important part of my life. In this episode, I'm sharing the beginning of my story: the circumstances surrounding my birth, the relationship I learned to build with an uncle I never physically knew, and the spiritual connections, conversations, and experiences I've had with him throughout my life. For me, grief, spirituality, and connection have always been intertwined. And years later, when I was 27 and lost my dad—my best friend, my safe place, my person—that relationship with loss took on an entirely different meaning. Nothing could have prepared me for the heartbreak of losing my dad. But in some ways, the connection I had already built with my uncle prepared me to understand that a relationship doesn't necessarily end when someone dies. This episode is about grief, but it's also about connection. It's about the experiences I can't always explain, the ways I've continued relationships with people I love after death, and how those experiences have shaped who I am, how I heal, and the work I do today. Some stories don't begin where we think they do. Mine begins the day I was born—with both a beginning and an ending. And I think I've been learning what it means to hold both ever since. What is Trauma? How to Process It and How to Cope
When most people hear the word trauma, they think of one life-changing event. But trauma isn't always about what happened to you—it's also about what happened inside of you because of what happened. In this episode, we're breaking down what trauma really is, how it affects your brain, body, and nervous system, and why two people can experience the same event but respond in completely different ways. We'll talk about the survival responses of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn, why your reactions make sense, and how trauma can quietly shape the way you think, feel, and connect with others. Most importantly, we'll explore what healing actually looks like. I'll share practical ways to begin processing trauma safely, coping with overwhelming emotions, and taking small, meaningful steps toward healing without expecting yourself to "just get over it." If you've ever wondered why you react the way you do, why certain situations feel bigger than they should, or whether healing is really possible, this episode is for you. Healing doesn't begin when you stop hurting. It begins when you start understanding why you hurt in the first place. What Healing Actually Looks Like (And It's Not What You See On Instagram)
Healing isn't always peaceful. It doesn't always look like morning routines, meditation, journaling, or inspiring quotes. Sometimes healing looks like setting a boundary for the first time, crying in your car after therapy, grieving the version of yourself that learned to survive, or simply choosing to rest without feeling guilty. In this episode, we're talking about what healing actually looks like—the messy, uncomfortable, beautiful process that happens behind the scenes. We'll explore why healing isn't linear, why setbacks don't mean you're failing, and how true growth often happens in the quiet moments that no one posts about. I'll also share some of the misconceptions about healing that can leave us feeling discouraged and remind you why giving yourself grace is one of the most important parts of the journey. If you've ever wondered why your healing doesn't look like everyone else's, this episode is your reminder that there is no perfect timeline, no perfect process, and no perfect way to heal. Healing isn't about becoming a different person. It's about returning to the person you were always meant to be. Finding Your Way Back To Yourself
Who are you underneath all the roles you've been expected to play? In this episode, we're exploring what it really means to live authentically—and why so many of us lose touch with who we are along the way. When you've spent years being the strong one, the helper, the peacekeeper, or the person everyone depends on, it can become difficult to separate who you truly are from the survival patterns you've learned. Authenticity isn't about becoming someone different; it's about peeling back the layers of expectations, fear, and self-protection so you can reconnect with the person you've always been. Together, we'll talk about why we disconnect from ourselves, how survival shapes our identity, and simple ways you can begin returning to yourself with more compassion and intention. If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Who am I when I'm not taking care of everyone else?" this episode is for you.
