Avenue Red Podcast #269 - Rugon

Rugon is back with a midnight feast of Gremlins-esque deep house, sketchy techno, his own oddball and frankly intimidating sample recordings woven over and interspersed with his nutty effects... all thrown into his grand pot of mastery including his own productions! His trips are always, to the discerning ear, quite discernably, Rugon-esque, shall one say? Anyways, another slick mix in the Avenue Red apocalypse bunker mister Rugon!! P.S. Rugon explicitly invites you to #269 with him... 3 hours of doomloop grooves incoming!!! "Why should it be that the fish in the sea are all unable to sing? Just listen to me young fellow... What need is there for fish to sing, when I can roar and bellow?" Avenue Red Podcast #268 - 1DAN

Avenue Red welcomes back Dan Rodgers AKA 1DAN for his second podcast mix. Originally from Cheltenham, England and now based over in Saigon, Vietnam, some may know him for his awesome productions as Tales Ov Rossi on DeepSystems Music or his releases on Owen Jay's Batti Batti imprint, or even his couple of releases on Atmospheric Existence Recordings... All really solidly produced and memorable deep house and techno music he has created there, but the lad sure knows how to work his magic on the 1's & 2's also! Let this mix be another testament of that fact. "I'm extremely happy to return for my second instalment to Avenue Red. I feel my studio mixes often give me a broader scope to explore the many different sonic territories that excite me, sometimes in the club I'm drawn to a specific sound palette which can end up feeling somewhat limited. I know that Avenue Red listeners come to listen with open ears. As such, this mix moves through ambient, West Country house, deep techno and more. I was also keen to feature productions from some good friends. Shout to MAQman for letting me use his studio here in Saigon to record and for giving the recording a little polish. This mix is specially dedicated to my dad, who recently passed." The location is just a mile away from where Dan grew up!

Avenue Red Podcast #267 - Farbian

Avenue Red welcomes back Berlin-based selector Farbian for his third mix in the main podcast series, following sets in 2019 and 2022. Spanning over 100 minutes of breathtakingly deep electronica, house, and techno, this journey offers an esoteric soundscape that is ideal for one to lie down and stare up at the stars, watching the planes and satellites drifting by. This man sure knows how to flow a mix smoothly and creatively! "I'm proud to be part of the Avenue Red Podcast series for the third time! What I appreciate most about the platform is that it gives a voice to the true underground, with Alec always putting the music before anything else - thank you! For this mix, I focused on deep, driving sounds from my collection, ranging from minimal and hypnotic house to dub techno. I've always been drawn to the beauty of these melancholic textures and wanted to shine a light on sounds which deserve to be heard more often on today's dancefloors. To round things off, the mix also features a few of my own productions, created together with my good friend Dr. Phil Hall in the studio several years ago. They're tracks I still deeply love, and I'm happy to share them in this context."
