About Average on Purpose

Welcome to Average on Purpose, the weekly circus where two best friends overshare for your entertainment. Taylor and Reanna met at a Christian high school, swapped purity rings for profit margins and panic attacks, and now unpack it all behind microphones and judgment. Taylor’s a Zoloft-fueled, flannel-wrapped gay lumberjack who runs too many companies and believes the printer’s plotting revenge. Reanna’s a delusional Pisces, cat lady, and office warlord who rules by spreadsheet and sarcasm. New episodes weekly. Tell your therapist it counts as homework.

If This Episode Disappears, You’ll Know Why

Buckle up. Episode 9 of Average On Purpose features our guest Patrick, who worked at the NSA during the same era Edward Snowden was there. Patrick joins us for a chaotic, laugh-heavy, mini therapy session where we ask the questions everyone wants to ask—and he shares what he can share. Expect real talk, uncomfortable truths, and the kind of “wait… what?” moments that make you pause and rewind. What it was like working inside the NSA during that time, and what the public doesn’t understand about how it all works How security culture actually feels day-to-day: training, protocols, paranoia, and the unspoken rules Patrick’s perspective on the Snowden era and the ripple effects that changed everything What people assume about intelligence work vs. what it’s really like behind the scenes The line between “spilling the beans” and what he legally/ethically can’t say—and how weird that line is in real life A few unexpectedly human moments: stress, identity, humor as coping, and why people inside the system are still just people https://averageonpurpose.com (https://averageonpurpose.com) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@averageonpurposepod (https://www.tiktok.com/@averageonpurposepod) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/averageonpurposepod (https://www.instagram.com/averageonpurposepod) https://www.youtube.com/@averageonpurposepod (https://www.youtube.com/@averageonpurposepod) In this episode, we get into:Website + MerchFollow usWatch the video version on YouTube

Heated Rivalry, S.A.B.E.R., and Things We Probably Shouldn’t Admit

Add in unfiltered admissions we did not plan to share and you get classic Average on Purpose chaos. Pop culture, paranoia, and feral honesty collide. Listener discretion is strongly suggested. averageonpurpose.com (https://www.averageonpurpose.com/) - Please leave us a voice message or email In this hilarious episode of Average on Purpose, the hosts dive straight into unfiltered chaos: Hunger Games-style birthday parties, whether people should be vaping on airplanes, and a raw conversation about using the R-word, accountability, and personal growth. Heated Rivalry, Gay Bar Trauma and Milking a Minotaur

https://www.averageonpurpose.com (https://www.averageonpurpose.com/) In this episode, we dive headfirst into the chaos, comedy, and catharsis of queer nightlife and pop culture, starting with the new HBO series Heated Rivalry. We talk about why it’s already becoming appointment television, how it captures the messy beauty of queer competition, and the real-life moments that make the show hit a little too close to home. From there, we take a trip down memory lane into the gay bar traumas that shaped us. Remember that time I was forced onstage to dance against an Abercrombie model? Because apparently nothing builds character like being unwillingly entered into a twink-adjacent Thunderdome. And yes, we revisit the legendary night a drag queen grabbed my face like a Victorian governess, powder-puffed me within an inch of my life, and sent me back into the crowd looking like I’d been baked at 350 degrees. But what’s a night out without a little chaos? We unpack gay bar fights: the petty, the passionate, and the downright bizarre. From parking-lot showdowns in six-inch heels to the kind of shouting matches that only start because someone said the wrong thing about Carly Rae Jepsen, we cover it all. Then we pivot to the rise of smut books on BookTok. Why is queer romance dominating the algorithm? What draws people to these spicy, unhinged stories? And are we as a society okay with how bold the recommendations have become? Probably not—and that’s exactly why we love it. This episode blends pop culture, personal disaster, nightlife anthropology, and the specific flavor of comedy that only comes from surviving the queer social arena. If you’ve ever lost a dance-off, been glitter-assaulted by a drag queen, witnessed a bar fight over a Britney deep cut, or spent hours scrolling BookTok’s spiciest corners, this one’s for you.

It’s messy, it’s unfiltered, and it’s exactly the kind of cultural soup we love to stir. https://www.averageonpurpose.com/ (https://www.averageonpurpose.com/)
