ENOUGH / The Gospels S5E5 / Matthew 5:17-20 / Sergio Fesiuk

Jesus said, “I did not come to abolish the Law… but to fulfill it.” What did He mean?

In this message from Matthew 5:17-20, we explore one of the most misunderstood statements in the entire Sermon on the Mount. Jesus confronts two kinds of people religion often produces: the self-righteous who believe they’ve done enough, and the exhausted who believe they’ll never be enough. The gospel speaks to both with the same answer: Christ is enough.

We’ll unpack the difference between abolishing and fulfilling the Law, how every sacrifice, prophecy, feast, and command pointed to Jesus, and why the Old Testament wasn’t replaced, it reached its intended goal in Him.

Finally, we gather around the Lord’s Table and trace the story from Mount Sinai, to the Sermon on the Mount, to Calvary, where Jesus fulfilled what humanity never could. Communion reminds us that salvation isn’t achieved by our performance but received through Christ’s finished work.

The Law points to Jesus.

The cross reveals Jesus.

The table invites us to trust Jesus.

SALT+LIGHT: The Gospels S5E4 / Matthew 5:13-16 / Sergio Fesiuk

What did Jesus really mean when He called His followers the salt of the earth and the light of the world? In this message from Matthew 5:13–16, we discover that these are far more than inspiring metaphors, they are Kingdom identities.

Building on the Beatitudes, Jesus shows that true discipleship moves from inner transformation to public witness. Salt preserves, purifies, flavors, and remains distinct. Light reveals truth, gives direction, shines visibly, and ultimately points people to the glory of God.

We’ll also explore why Jesus says, “You are a city on a hill,” and how the Church is called to display God’s Kingdom together, not merely as isolated believers, but as a transformed community whose lives reveal the King.

The goal isn’t influence for our name.

The goal isn’t good works for our reputation.

The goal is that people would see the Father and glorify Him.

Become part of the movement financially. We have more entertainment, more influence, more opportunities, and more ways to build a personal brand than any generation before us.

Yet beneath the success, many people are quietly asking: “If I achieve everything I’ve ever wanted… why do I still feel empty?”

In this powerful message from Matthew 5:1-6, Jesus confronts humanity’s definition of success and reveals a radically different path to true flourishing.

Before there was social media, hustle culture, self-help gurus, personal branding, and the endless pursuit of success, Jesus climbed a mountain and declared who is truly blessed.

Not the wealthy.

Not the famous.

Not the powerful.

Not the influencers.

But the poor in spirit.

Those who mourn.

The meek.

Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

This teaching explores the opening Beatitudes and reveals why Jesus’ vision of blessing is completely opposite of the world’s version of happiness.

You’ll Discover:

• Why success can become a beautiful prison

• The meaning of the Hebrew word “Hevel” in Ecclesiastes

• What Jesus actually meant by “Blessed”

• Why spiritual poverty is the beginning of transformation

• The connection between mourning and healing

• How meekness is strength under control

• What it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness

• The difference between looking successful and actually flourishing

• Why identity can only be found in God

Jesus is not teaching behavior modification.

He’s teaching heart transformation.

The Beatitudes are not a list of spiritual achievements.

They are a picture of what God’s grace produces in surrendered people.

This message will challenge cultural assumptions about happiness, success, identity, purpose, fulfillment, and what it means to live a truly blessed life.

The world says: Build yourself.

Jesus says: Surrender yourself.

The world says:Become someone.

Jesus says: Come to Me.

Because true blessing isn’t found in what you achieve. It’s found in who you’re becoming. You weren’t created merely to succeed. You were created to flourish in the Kingdom of God.
