In my podcast, I share with you my love of nature, centered in my own suburban backyard. My husband and I have transformed our 1/8 of an acre into a refuge filled with native plants, fruit-bearing bushes, native trees, ponds, paths and chickens! My real goal, however, is to share with you how you can take any size yard, using whatever time and energy you want to give and make your yard a happy and productive place for you and gives nature a space to thrive.
In this episode of Backyard Columbus, we’re talking about one simple thing you can do for monarchs right now: plant native asters. As monarchs move through Ohio on their migration to Mexico, late-season nectar helps fuel their journey. This episode is a gentle reminder that supporting pollinators does not have to be overwhelming. One better plant choice can still make a difference.
