[…] After about 10 years in the domestic violence advocacy arena, I really did have to step away for my own wellbeing. And still life and the work of survival continues. I did a lot of work for PTSD. But yeah, I'm back in my life now. And I'm happy to say, but lots of therapy. My kids have a pretty normal life too. They're not, I never think that they're out of the woods because like me, anything can trigger them. Anything. One time I asked my kids, I was like, you know, what do you think your life would have been like had your dad lived? Had this not happened? And my daughter, I was surprised because she's pretty quiet about everything actually said, I think would have been infinitely worse, worse than seeing your father kill himself worse than seeing your father, shoot me worse than the trauma and experiences that you've had to go through infinitely worse, had he been involved in their lives.
